One of the things I remember from my time in the bookstore at the Abbey of St Hildegard is that she was also famous for practicality as well. I believe it was some kind of strain of wheat they developed that increased food supplies or nutrition....something like that. It’s a vague memory, but it struck me that Hildegard was not a one-note prodigy.
