That's who is attacking fellow Christians with false accusations and lurid little photos that some dusty, deranged, outré clerical hermit apparently thought appropriate and amusing. Several of them are clearly not even in the United States and have hostility toward it and to us as Americans, and a barely constrained desire for monarchy, under their church perfected in the image of their sect, of course.

Actually, at that point, I don't consider that it's *fellow Christians* who are making the attacks.

There are a handful of Catholics who post here who are reasonable and courteous and whom I would definitely conclude have truly put their faith in Christ, in spite of their Catholicism, not because of it.

But then again, they don't resort to infantile, repetitive posting of images and mockery and derision. They are ones with whom you can agree to disagree and at least make some kind of effort to try to understand our objections to Catholicism.

My neighbors on both sides and across the street are Catholic. They’re fine people for the most part, they’re not like this. My former business partner and friend of 25 years is Catholic. He’s too genteel to have ever behaved in this manner even if he were three sheets to the wind, and so I suspect it doesn’t ever even enter his mind.

I don’t care for some of the things that the Roman Catholic Church proclaims infallibly as doctrine. I think they’re the schismatics, if you want to get right down to it. However, there are genuine Christians within her, I’ve known many. These folks we’ve tangled with are something else.

Aww, so sad - those Catholics don't know to tip their hats at the Protestant overlords whenever they deign to walk by. It doesn't matter that the Protestant pantheon is, on its fringes, become more pagan than anything that rolled out of Africa in the distant past.

No, what matters is the distant remembrance of those days when Calvinist Protestant denominations ruled America and Catholics and Baptists and Quakers cringed when the masters passed. Why can't the Protestants put the Catholics back down on the plantation where they behaved themselves? Why can't the Catholics accept the fact that they are second rate, second class and, oh, just not worthy? Why do Catholics have to remind everyone that the Protestant Revolution's spawned promulgation of all the first millennium's heresies and most of the minor ones? Oh, for the heady heydays when Thomas Nast ruled the editorial cartoon:
