“Is any among you sick? Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man has great power in its effects.”
So you go to “the Elders of the Church” to confess?
This is a letter written to the jewish church in exile not to the elders... so the one and other is the people of the church .. read the words.. IT DOES NOT SAY CONFESS TO THE ELDERS..
