If you want to call Catholicism pagan. Then I think you shouldn’t mind us calling Fundamentalism Satanic and Fundamentalists crypto-Satanists.

Fundamentalists have a bit in common with St. Peter when Jesus rebuked his arrogance, saying “Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men.”

So from my view, the only thing missing are the horns because the attitude is the same.
