I sometimes wish some of the poster’s theology rose to the level of Nestorius, but I don’t think it does.

One would have to think through his or her theology more than we see from these mere knee-jerks to the mention of the Mother of God.

I say the poster is at least crypto-Nestorian. Their beliefs line up with the anathemas of the Council of Ephesus.

Silly you....since when does the Almighty God have need of a mother.....He came here as a man through the natural way of birth all men come into this world....and He used Mary as the vessel to accomplish that work on behalf of mankind. It was His work, not Mary's. She was simply willing to submit to the plan.

It's really very simple to understand....but then this would depend on how big ones God is seen as. Small Gods always need something else besides themselves for the men who cannot accept He alone is the Almighty...when something else fills other voids.

Sometimes I think that this obsession with Mary gives some men a sense of protecting her, if they aren't married, it fulfills the need for a partner...or the 'other woman' if married, they can freely associate with without getting into trouble. Which would explain so many varying images of Mary down thru the ages....each to his own liking.
