""But the natural man without the Spirit cannot receive these Truths from God's Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can't understand them, for only those who have The Spirit can understand what the Spirit means." 1 Cor 2:14

That's exactly why heretics do things like throwing out seven books of the Old Testament before they even start to spin their new religion from whole cloth. They know that unless they first trash the Bible people might be led by the Holy Spirit to read those portions of Scripture and in doing so recognize that they've been led away from Christ and His Truth rather that to Him. You know, the way Luther wanted to throw out James because it clearly tells Christians "not by faith alone".

It's sad, but those who believe "Thy Will" and "My Intellect" are exactly the same things are always substituting their own intellect for the Truth and therefore subscribe to fallacies and heresies like "Sola Yourselfa" and "Sola Fee Pay" types of doctrines. They're floating in a lake of their own pride and that's exactly what leads to tens of thousands of different little religions each claiming to be the only real church and spinning out things like the Blab it and Grab it Gospel. The health and wealth doctrine is based every bit as much on someone's personal interpretation of Scriptures as the many distortions of The Word regularly posted here are. Those who pretend that Christ either lied or was too stupid to say say what he meant and could not possibly mean exactly what He said spin endless distortions and even premeditated lies to suit their own intellect. And in every case back their little heresy up with their own personal interpretation of Scriptures, their own new interpretation that contradicts the interpretations that have been held by Christians for close to two thousand years.

Those who clearly call Christ a liar by denying that Christ founded His Church and that Christ lied when He said He would be physically present in the Eucharist are a perfect example of what I Corinthians 2:14 is talking about, people totally blinded by their own pride and refusing sight when it's offered because they're enjoying their hallucinations so much.

Luther also had his sites on Hebrews, Jude, and Revelation.

My friend..was Jerome a Heretic? He did not believe that the apocrypha was inspired text, he did not place it with the inspired texts of the Jewish OT ..nor did the Jews.. Those books were not added to the OT text until Trent

Christ did indeed build His church.. but that church in the NT was not the Roman Catholic church.. that church was built on the cornerstone of Christ and His work..

Eph 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner [stone];

1Pe 2:4 ¶ To whom coming, [as unto] a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, [and] precious,
1Pe 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
1Pe 2:6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
1Pe 2:7 Unto you therefore which believe [he is] precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
1Pe 2:8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, [even to them] which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed
