A notoriously 'gay-friendly' parish in San Francisco has invited an openly homosexual Episcopalian cleric to lead an Advent Vespers service.
Most Holy Redeemer parish asked Bishop Otis Charles, a retired Episcopalian prelate, to lead the November 30 service. After serving as the Bishop of Utah from 1971 to 1993, he publicly announced that he is homosexual. Divorced from the mother of his 5 children, he solemnized a same-sex union in 2004.
So you can't believe the words of God but you can believe your religion...
I'm glad to see you admit that...We know exactly where you guys stand and it's good to have some confirmation from time to time...
“fixed it”
only shows her ignorance of the Church, no clue it is the Body of Christ.
that love “Jesus”, BUT HATE HIS BODY.
they must never have read Acts 9:4-5
Jesus asked Saul “why are you persecuting me?”
you see Saul was persecuting the Church, but Jesus knowing the Church is His Body on earth, says Saul was persecuting Jesus!
what a warning to those who call the Church pagan and slander it as teaching “mary worship” or “works salvation” or the host of other “untruths” we read daily.
Jesus takes persecution against Him very personally.
of course, to the natural man, this is all folly.
In the end I will be judged by God, not by men.
At no time, do I presume to judge the souls of any Protestants. That is for God alone.
the point is, without the Church you have no clue what the word of God is.
since you reject the authority of the Church, tell me how you know which books are canonical and which are not.
for example, how do you know Hebrews is Scripture and the gospel of Peter is not.
this should be good, something tells me it will not be answered.
i throw this question out to anyone.
baptismal regeneration
infant baptism
the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist
the sacrifice of the Mass
prayers for the dead
prayers to the saints
the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church
the Bishop of Rome as the successor to St Peter
apostolic succession
confession to a priest
the Trinity
I don't believe you...Post the relevant statements by these 'church fathers' to prove your case...
Yes it is, if we are looking for a script for Comedy Central...
It would behoove you to stop quoting the Bible because all you do is twist them to fit your private prejudices.
I reject your interpretation as much as you reject mine. I see the Gospel According to Metmom, not the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Happy reading.http://www.cin.org/users/jgallegos/contents.htm
There is an axiom from philosophy that you can’t disprove a negative.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argument_from_ignorance
You have decided that Catholicism is false and have closed yourself off to a reasoned investigation of Catholic beliefs.
Consequently, there is nothing any Catholic or Orthodox Christian can tell you that would change your mind. So what’s the point?
your ignorance of what the Church Fathers believed is not my problem. do your own research, they were Catholics my friend, not Baptists or Mormons.
How perfect is that! Seems some used that tactic back them and Peter corrected them. Nothing new under the sun - satan always after Truth and substituting his lie w/ his counterfeit claims.
rz, great link.
the unbelievers can now see how different their “faith” is from the Church, whether we are talking 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, century thru to the present day.
still they won’t believe, the Holy Spirit is the only one who can give them the eyes of faith. until then, their spiritual blindness will remain.
speaking of comedy central, can you answer #684?
how do you decide which books are canonical, since God did not give us an inspired table of contents.?
many books claim to be “Scripture” that are not and some books don’t claim to be Scripture, are.
how do you decide?
want to take a crack at post #684?
all these “sola scriptura” types can’t say how we know what books we are supposed to using for “sola scriptura”?
The Evangelical problem is anti-intellecutalism. http://christiansthinking.com/Content.asp?W=51&C=141&S=292

But in reality, Evangelical fundamentalists only make idols of their own minds by arrogantly pretending that no one understood the scriptures prior to 1517.
Meaningless drivel...
when they say the Scriptures are their final authority, what they are really saying is THEY are their final authority. They put themselves above the Scriptures by claiming they and no one else will or can decide what the Scriptures say.
Matthew 28 records Jesus giving His authority to the Church to TEACH, yet they feel no obligation to learn.
there can never be true unity of the Faith for these folks, for while they condemn the Pope and Church Councils, they set themselves up as their own pope and church council.
they feel the Holy Spirit will lead them, and if they feel led to believe something that no one believed for 16 centuries, oh well!
Christians know the Holy Spirit has been active in leading and protecting the Church for 2,000 years, not just the last 500!
Of course it's pointless...We reason with the words of God in scripture...You have nothing to reason with other than the teaching of the pagan philosophers who built your religion...
You reason with philosophy...We counter with scriture...And when we reason with scripture, you guys counter with silence, or insults...You can not reason against God's word...
