Actually, the passages you listed are addressed in many discussions and books on the subject.

Those are difficult passages, but calvinist-oriented theologians do have explanations for them.

There are other passages that seem to point out that salvation is purely a gift, that man has done absolutely nothing to merit it. This was not only Calvin's/Luther's positon...it was the opinion Augustinian held and he also based it on Scripture.

It is not a topic that is easy and that is why many of the answers are not simplistic.

Read the bible and accept what it says. It becomes rather easy to accept at that point. :)

Point to ponder--If a theologian has to "explain" how a passage of Scripture doesn't actually mean what it says, then I'd call into question the theologian, and not the Scripture.
