taking the words back to their origins according to the idioms & customs of the times...English was not the original language and most times and it is a minimum of 3 steps to get the word back to its root. That is why I gave you the e-sword link as it allows to have side by side views of Hebrew, Greek & English as well as the dictionaries & lexicons for Hebrew & Greek

I totally agree. That is why I use the Chabdad Tanach online, Hebrew english, Mamre hebrew english bible online (less reliable IMHO) Blue letter bible online Hebrew greek and english online...which is probably close to the esword. Which I will try and see how it renders text.

Have you ever talked to an orthodox Jewish Rabbi about the oral law? If you're curious, check out messiah truth forum, they have a lot of discussions going on on all sorts of topics. A good way to investigate at a distance.

At any rate...take care.

Yes I have & still do

What I have come to know is that there is a distinct difference and fine line between defining how the Torah instructions are to be done as YHVH couldn't possibly write every little detail down, I call these helpful instructions to guide us in proper worship & daily living. On the other hand, there is oral law that took this precious gift and corrupted Torah by trying to control every little detail of a person's life, especially on the Sabbath.

I cherish the Siddur and have a much deeper love & appreciation for the Torah & Psalms. One very special teaching on the Siddur & Temple service that I will forever remember daily is that verses 22-29 of Psalms 118 was being sung in the Temple while Yah’shua HaMashiach was dying to save us from the penalty of sin which is eternal death.

Thank you for the research tips. I had already checked out the Blue Letter bible and didn't stay long. I will check into the Chabad Tanach online, however I do have my Artscroll versions with commentary so I do not know that there will much difference. I also have set of the Interlinear Chumash Schottenstein on the way so I am sure to have a lot more questions in the future that only a Rabbi can answer. One of my fav sayings these days is “Everyone needs a Rabbi, even is one isn't Jewish”.

Shalom!
