Yes and that was a moment that G-d made it crystal clear that he does not want human sacrifice and showed Abraham that we dont sacrifice our children. G-d said no...dont even touch him. And then provided the proper sacrifice...a ram. Abraham knew that G-d would provide another sacrifice.
