In the Nicene Creed, we pray:
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is seen and unseen.
Fopr many scientists, it is too difficult to make that leap of faith.
I've posted this before but here goes one more time. My Uncle, a at the time a Capt. of Marines stationed in the Philippines, died twice while laying in the hospital with a severe case of pneumonia. Both times he made the trip through the light and talked to relatives who had passed, plus to an individual who seemed to be in charge, and both times he was told he had to go back for it wasn't time for him yet. One of the major things I remember was the fact that he talked to a dead relative that he didn't know had passed and only found out later after writing home and asking about the person.
He was never afraid to die and always had faith in God for the rest of his life, finally passing for good at the age of 83.
