Whenever a new moon would come around, Saachi Mehtas behavior changed. For five days starting on the day of the new moon, she could not hear or talk, and her body would shut down as if she was suddenly paralyzed.
Worried for their 20-year-old daughter, Saachis parents took her to see witchdoctors and temple priests, but neither could offer her a cure. For years, these intervals of unexplained sickness disrupted Saachis and her familys lives. Even after Saachi married and had children, her condition did not improve.
When Saachis mother-in-law, Gajra, met Gospel for Asia-supported Bible college student Sanjay Nigam, she shared her discouragement concerning Saachi with him.
If I pray to Jesus, Sanjay said, Saachi can be healed completely.
Gajra and the rest of her family eagerly agreed to let the third-year Bible student pray for Saachi. They brought him to Saachi, who was lying on the bed unconscious from the strange illness. Seeing her, Sanjay began fervently seeking the Lord for her healing. By the third hour of prayer, Saachi began to stir and eventually woke up. Her family was amazed that in a matter of hours, Saachi was brought back to normal, whereas it usually took five days.
After witnessing this miracle, Saachi, Gajra and the rest of the family wanted to know more about Jesus. Sanjay joyfully shared the Good News with them, and right then and there, they decided to follow Christ; theyre the first family in their village to become Christians!
Sanjay asks for prayer for Saachi and her family, that they would continue to grow in the Lord and their neighbors will also experience the love of Christ through them.

Oh please...
Well, then, don’t ever expect a healing when you need one.
One must believe that Jesus did what He said He did. By His stripes/wounds we WERE healed. It’s takes faith to bring what is to pass. Faith without any unbelief.
1 Peter 2:24 “He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by His wounds you have been healed.”
Isiah 53:5 “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.”
Mark 10:52 Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.
Mark 9:24 “Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”
And this student believed and it came to pass. He heard The Word and OBEYED IT!
Matt 10:8 “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.
I would love to meet this missionary that prays for 3 hours for someone. We should all be half as committed.
Her illness is probably psychosomatic in origin, and if so prayer would definitely help.
Amen, Amen, a thousand times Amen!
Mark 10:52 Go, said Jesus, your faith has healed you. Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.
Beautiful.
Miracles are happening all the time. We just need to open our eyes to see them.
Do you deny that it is exactly as it was reported?
whoa
You know there is so much weirdness around Asia, Africa the Caribbean......who knows. Demons probably.
Why didn't the prayers/rituals of the Witch Doctors or Temple Priests work? Did the Christian prayer have something more to it?
If we were, likely we'd be seeing more of this kind of stuff.
I'm becoming more and more convinced that a couple of the reasons we don't see God acting as we'd like to see is that we don't, as a whole, spend as much time in prayer as we could and probably ought, and that fasting with prayer is pretty much a lost discipline and yet I've consistently seen incredible answers to prayer the times I've fasted as well.
I could suggest a screen name for you. :-)
