Amen, Graybeard. The good news is that because I am in Christ, and because of what He accomplished on my behalf, I can stand pure and blameless in the courts of heaven.
As for witnessing to Mormons, my thought is that we should witness to a Mormon as we witness to any other unbeliever. When asked should we differentiate our doctrine from theirs? Yes Should we let them know there is a difference? Absolutely
I believe the best way to witness to any lost person is via the gospel. I think believers are to be in the gospel sharing business, not the saving business. Scripture says, “Salvation is of the Lord.” Unless he awakens a soul dead in sins and trespasses, our words and clever argumentation are of no effect. We can never talk anyone into heaven. We can talk them into making a decision, walking an aisle, joining a church, getting baptized, etc., but we can never talk a dead doul awake. Only God can do that.
So, I think we simply share His Word, His truth. We can stand on the promise that His word never returns void. If He gives a man ears to hear, the man will hear. In John 10 Christ said, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” His sheep, those appointed unto eternal life, will hear the truth and come.
Romans 1 says that the gospel is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes. Accordingly, I believe we should spread the gospel (the power of God) to every living soul and leave the results in His hands.
“we should witness to a Mormon as we witness to any other unbeliever”
Jesus Christ is my Savior but you have already condemned me to hell because I am a Mormon. Interesting.
