This is a Catholic Caucus thread.
Perhaps you didn't notice.
Thanks,

The caucus label applies to your repeat post, as well. Thanks.
OH DEAR, I did NOT notice. Sorry I made the mistake :)
Pro-Life bump
I wish the Feds would be as scrupulous as Fr Pavone..I never once questioned him regarding finances. I head up a pro life group in 2 counties in Pennsylvania and the cost to operate in two small counties would amaze you. I can imagine the millions it cost to operate on such a level. Most of their material is free to those who want to participate.
Also Fr Pavone’s Homilies are wonderful. He will be greeted in Heaven by millions of babies in the Resurrection!
However, what most people see is the TV priest and the priest when he travels.
Father Frank was able to get early experience with TV by winning an essay contest in Junior High. This gave him the opportunity to make a very liberal EPA type commercial on water pollution.
His role models are not Catholics: Martin Luther King, Jr., and Gandhi of India.
To be fair to Father Frank Pavone and Bishop Zurek, unless one knows the exact details of what it going on, one should not criticize either party in this situation...
When the Diocese of Amarillo took on the opportunity of bringing Father Frank and other priests under the control of the Diocese of Amarillo, there were certain ramifications:
2. The Diocese of Amarillo gave properly (buildings/land) to PFL so that PFL could build facilities in the Diocese. This has fallen by the way-side. PFL has chosen to rent very high priced real estate in New York City. 3. The Diocese of Amarillo, under Bishop Yanta, helped with the religious formation and guided spiritually the first four MEV seminarians. Father Frank Pavone spent very little time with these four men. Another priest at PFL was given this job as almost a full time assignment (which was not why that priest joined PFL). The MEV aspirants or seminarians to become priests for PFL has fallen by the waste side, and the candidates were probably four very good men that were neglected because of other priorities at PFL (in my opinion). All four men left PFL as MEV seminarians. 4. The retirement of Bishop Yanta hurt the Diocese of Amarillo as well as PFL. But this is something Father Frank, if he is to be considered an able administrator, should have foreseen as it was only a couple years after the move to the Diocese of Amarillo. 5. Finally, when the Diocese of Amarillo first became involved with PFL, this poor Diocese raised significant funds for PFL through the hard work of certain people in the Diocese. There may be bitterness in the Diocese because of some of the things that followed this. For example, during this time, Father Frank allowed one priest at PFL to be a Full Time New York Yankees Fan. In other words, whenever this priest was at the PFL building in NYC, this priest would spend a fair amount of his time on following the New York Yankees baseball team. If people think Father Frank is an able administrator, then they should question why Father Frank allowed this to go on. 1. The Priests of PFL affected had to say masses and spend time in the Diocese of Amarillo (they were assigned to that Diocese). However, that was only a few Sundays out of the year.
Some people may think my criticism of Father Frank to be too harsh, but my spiritual suffered greatly because I was an employee of PFL. Ultimately, that was Father Frank's responsibility as the head of PFL.
He could have specified a Spiritual Director if he did not have time for this function, and he could have encouraged employees to speak to the priests about spiritual problems. On the contrary, he gave specific instructions for the employees not to bother the priests of PFL.
Thank you for sharing your insider’s perspective with the members of this thread. Our perceptions are built upon what we see and hear but lack the full picture. Your comments provide the additional insight.
Fr. Pavone never learned his lesson and forgot that he must obey his bishop.
