He never said that people were forgiven and that they were free to go and continue sinning.
He said they were forgiven and commanded them to go and sin no more.
That’s what Jesus would do.

Absolutely.
The cliche goes like this, yes? “Love the sinner but hate the sin”.
Those with homosexual leanings that believe on Jesus are God’s children, and heirs to His great promise just as much as are heterosexuals. But that does NOT mean that homosexual BEHAVIOR is “OK”, or to be condoned (let alone glorified).
And practicing homosexuals in the clergy? DON’T EVEN GET ME STARTED!!!
