From the article: Here Glenn Beck goes again, claiming he's a Christian, this time at Restoring Courage 2011 — Jerusalem. Glenn gets upset when anyone questions his Christianity. That's weird because he's a Mormon who affirms the official teaching of Mormonism aka the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS). The LDS outright deny many of the essential doctrines of the Christian faith. Moreover, LDS doctrine contradicts what Scripture teaches. So of course there are Christians who feel Beck's not a true follower of Jesus Christ — not the Jesus of the Bible anyway. When his "I'm a Christian" claim is held up to scrutiny Glenn gets his knickers in a knot. At the rally he choked up with emotion and said in an accusatory tone that only Christians question his salvation. Poor Glenn. He's so misunderstood.

Ah. The common Mormon PR line these days. "We're so misunderstood." "So many 'myths' out there about Mormonism."

Yet when you check under the Mormon hood, there they still are. For example, Mormon belief in polygamy? Mortality (this side of death) - no; immortality - other side of death - yup! Polygamy for people Pre-Jesus coming a second time - well that answer is a bit more complex: Old Testament, yes and no; Book of Mormon times, no; Joseph Smith & other Mormon leaders, yes; post-manifesto on polygamy -- yes, but only on the sly side for about 20 years; then no; then, finally, when the Mormon Jesus returns, yes, per Lds "apostle" Bruce R. McConkie in his church-owned Deseret Book published book.

But of even greater import than the ever-oscillating Mormon doctrine of poly-wives is it's belief in poly-gods. Sorry, Christianity acknowledges one God. Judaism acknowledges one God. Islam acknowledges one God. Ancient religions like Zoroastrianism acknowledges one God. Even ecumenical reductionists like Bahais acknowledge one God.

But Mormonism? Their god was once a man who became a god of this world when a council of gods got together and appointed a man to be the god of this world...and, oh, by the way, you can become a god, too to compete with him for the glory, worship, power, adoration, and honor in the universe.

(And Mormons wonder why people believe that Mormons still embrace polygamy?)

From the article: What many people fail to understand is that Mormonism is a religion. It is not the same religion as Christianity, not even close, yet they say they're Christians. Take the time to study their Doctrine and Covenants and you'll find their beliefs are very different from historic, orthodox Christianity, especially when it comes to the essentials of the faith...No doubt some Beck fans will be annoyed that I'm "attacking" their hero. I hope you're annoyed enough to research Mormonism (links below) and to go and look at Scripture to see if what I'm saying here is true.

Why do evangelical leaders choose to team up with a Mormon? More specifically why did historian David Barton of Wall Builders, Attorney Mat Staver of Liberty Counsel, Mike Evans of Jerusalem Prayer Team, and Pastor John Hagee join Glenn at the Restoring Courage rally?

Beck is most likely a Christian who doesn't understand the secrets the Mormon church tries to keep away from its members. My question is why would Beck associate himself with a false teacher like John Hagee?
