You have so many names to choose from in the Catholicteria. “I’ll have one worship with 2 sides of hyerdulia and what the heck make that three. I’m starving here. This saint looks good today, I’ll take one but put the veneration on the side. It’s just so rich...”

"You have so many names to choose from in the Catholicteria." Sorry, the only thing served there is the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ and the Bread of the Kingdom of Heaven....oh, and those really good tamales the Carmelite Sisters from Mexico sell after mass sometimes.

This saint looks good today,
And a patron saint one might be named after - after all, the catholic way is to be named after saint's name or a derivative. So they go to that saint in prayer. Unless they lost something - then they swing to 'Saint Anthony - please come around, something is lost and can't be found'. LOL! Or have a hang nail or whatever - a dead person to pray to for whatever ails you.
However, Christians are named after Christ!! And it is HIM we follow, HIM we pray to, Him we look to. HIM ALONE, HIS WORD ALONE!
For Christians, It's all about Jesus. For catholics, it's all about man, dead or alive. 'I'm ALL yours, Mary' from the 'infallible' one!
