The foundation for the Catholics of the belief that Mary is in heaven is Revelation 12. Problem is that in Revelation 12 the “woman” is talking about the nation of Israel, not Mary.
Luke 11:27 And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked. 28 But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.
Those that hear and keep the word of God are more blessed then Mary. Jesus said so.
Matthew 11:11 Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
The only one greater then Jesus is John the Baptist. Not Mary. Jesus said so.
That is not the foundation of that belief.
Mary heard the Word of God and obeyed, that is why she was blessed to be the Mother of our Lord. She was chosen for Him because she was blessed, but the other way around.
No one, not a one, not one single Catholic has ever claimed that Mary is greater than Jesus.
That is a distortion of the doctrine and a gross misunderstanding of it results from such distortion.
