"To be deep in history is to cease to be protestant." John Cardinal Newman."To be deep in God's word is to cease to be Catholic." me.
To be deep in God's word is to reject any notion that John Newman is authoritative...When I am holding a bible, why would I care what John Newman thinks???

I’ll bet if John CARDINAL Newman had spent as much time deep in God’s word instead of history, he would have been known as Pastor John Newman..
