Paragraph 838 refers to Protestants. This is in the Christian section.

838 "The Church knows that she is joined in many ways to the baptized who are honored by the name of Christian, but do not profess the Catholic faith in its entirety or have not preserved unity or communion under the successor of Peter."322 Those "who believe in Christ and have been properly baptized are put in a certain, although imperfect, communion with the Catholic Church."323 With the Orthodox Churches, this communion is so profound "that it lacks little to attain the fullness that would permit a common celebration of the Lord's Eucharist."

So, tell me, if you insist this refers to the "Protestants", then why all the recriminations and condemnations all the time on this forum? Why the constant insistence that we are all a bunch of heretics? Why, if your magesterium considers us "Christian", must all y'all refuse the same hand of fellowship? We are certainly accepting that some Catholics are among the wheat and the sheep of Christ.

You said: Words mean something. They don’t mean them to mean what you want them to mean when you want them to mean it. That is the difference between Catholicism and you guys. If that is so, then why don't you seem to acknowledge that we are indeed brothers and sisters in Christ? I've said all along that the Body of Christ is a spiritual body that is the universal called-out assembly of believers in Jesus Christ, but I get called a "Gnostic" or whatever else the heretic word of the day is. Don't we deserve some kind of apology?

It doesn't refer to Protestants. It very SPECIFICALLY says "Orthodox Churches", capitalized, indicating a name, which is the Orthodox Catholic churches and celebrating the Eucharist, another Catholic thing.

Besides, since Protestants are not considered Christians by most of the FRomans Catholics on this board but rather *faux Christians*, cultists, and heretics, we do not fall under the *Christian* heading in their Catechism by their own definition.

It still leaves Muslims in first place before Protestants. In light of the official Catechism of the Catholic church position on Muslims, having a Catholic turned muslim situation should not be a big deal. Muslims are right behind Catholics in line for salvation according to their own church. Nor should it be an issue if a muslim is in Congress since they worship the same god.

>>but do not profess the Catholic faith in its entirety or have not preserved unity or communion under the successor of Peter.<<

Let’s look at just that phrase and see what scripture says about those contentions.

1 Corinthians 1:12 Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. 13 Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?<

Because, like the Moslems, we consider Protestants to worship the True God imperfectly. You guys are closer, that's all.

Why the constant insistence that we are all a bunch of heretics?

Most of you guys are.

Why, if your magesterium considers us "Christian", must all y'all refuse the same hand of fellowship?

What hand is this? The hand that killed thousands of monks and nuns as the Reformation conquered some of Europe and looted monasteries that were a millennium old? The hand that wrote heresy after heresy and insisted that each one was better than the other? The hand that stayed any opposition to the Muslim invasion of Austria and the Balkans and indeed actively aided them in the hopes of picking up scraps from the successful invaders? The hand that accepted Muslim occupation of Spain for 600 years? The hand that right now is causing the slaughter of the entire Christian communities left in the Middle East, north Africa and certain Balkan communities? That hand?

If that is so, then why don't you seem to acknowledge that we are indeed brothers and sisters in Christ?

If you are a brother or sister in Christ, why not move back in with the family instead of hanging out in shantytown?

I've said all along that the Body of Christ is a spiritual body that is the universal called-out assembly of believers in Jesus Christ, but I get called a "Gnostic" or whatever else the heretic word of the day is.

Tsk, tsk, not paying attention, obviously. Your posts are only labeled Gnostic when they profess Gnostic beliefs.

Don't we deserve some kind of apology?

If I observe deficiency and label it deficient, to whom do I owe an apology?
