My wife is from Elkhart (IN) - the Ft. Wayne - South Bend Diocese. I was pleasantly surprised by a poster I saw with the large number of seminarians from that area. I would guess about a third had Hispanic last names.

In the last few years, I have been rather surprised to see several nuns out and about wearing habits that I had never seen before. Perhaps two or three new orders in my area. All Roman Catholic, but in my area that is not a given, because there are lots of different Orthodox churches as well.

What with the economy, and things like the Indiana school vouchers plan that is a huge shot in the arm to parochial schools, it looks like seminaries are going to be busy.
