Texas Governor Rick Perry took the stage today at 11:20 a.m. and spoke for about ten minutes. He passages from Joel 2:12-17, Isaiah 40:28-31, and from Ephesians 3:14-21.
Perry then prayed for our country and to give our president wisdom.
Prior to his reading and prayer he delivered a few remarks where he asked; “How can we be one nation under God if we cannot be one Church under God?” He went on to say “we cannot fix America until we fix the Church.
While Governor Perry was praying, he then said something that profoundly touched me – he was praying for those that cannot see the Light, “but because we know a loving God, we know the greatest darkness comes just before the morning.”

Amazing speech! The dems and Mitt supporters tried to verbally crucify the man but he continued on with his speech while they made themselves look like idiots taunting him and mocking him. Not once did he lose his place.

Gov Perry called for this long after his re-election and long before his consideration for the Presidency.
I wanted to get that out of the way before commenting any further as I’ve been completely disgusted at comments by some FReepers regarding Rick Perry.
Back to his offering of prayer both at the beginning and the end of ‘The Response’ event; he was extremely humble and he approached the throne of God as a man of faith and not of position. It was moving; particularly his closing. I thank God that someone of his position participated in this. Florida Gov Scott was there as well as Gov Brownback of KS (spelling of his name?). Thank you Lord for these leaders that were bold enough, in spite of ridicule and anger, to participate.
As to the agreement with Muslims Rick Perry signed, here is his OWN WORDS....
Describing the importance of the agreement, Governor Perry explained that “traditional Western education speaks little of the influence of Muslim scientists, scholars, throughout history, and for that matter the cultural treasures that stand today in testament to their wisdom.” The Governor recalled the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the University of Texas and the Aga Khan University last year, noting that with this new agreement, “we further advance our shared efforts to bridge the cultural divide between East and West.”
SOUNDS like a BIG GOVERNMENT, ONE WORLD Post-Christian Politician to me.

Back up your accusations otherwise what you say has no validity.
What fellowship does darkness have with light?
How can a bible believing Christian (which is what you want to argue Perry is) sign an agreement with Muslims treating them special?
No such agreement / honor was bestowed upon Christians.
So now he holds a public prayer conference (why not before he started running for presidency?).
It’s because he know that foolish sheep can be FOOLED.
If he wants to be an example, he would not have ordered the vaccination of 12 year old school girls for sexually transmitted diseases.

First of all I responded to your post from my ping and not the thread. So I will attempt to answer now that I’ve viewed your allegations.
Regarding Mawlana Hazar Imam, have you researched him? Because he is a muslim do you automatically believe his intentions are nefarious? He is the one reaching out to non-muslims and that speaks volumes. He reached out to Gov Perry in spite of Perry’s staunch alligience to Israel. This imam apparently has his own desire for peace and a non-violent resolution.
Regarding the gardarsil incident; yes Perry is guilty of that but after the outcry from the citizens and the legislature, he signed the bill that the legislature submitted which essentially made the issue dead. Point? Perry is someone who will listen (unlike the trash we currently have in the WH) to the citizenry.
The TTC is dead as well.
I have researched Perry and here is what I know:
He is a born again believer and believes in Christ (is that redundant)
He served our Nation honorably in the Navy
He has signed more pro-life legislation than any governor in the Union
He is pro 2nd Amendment
He is a staunch supporter and ally of Israel.
I don’t need anything else. Perry is a man who has flaws, but will listen to others and ‘change his mind’ if he is wrong. 100% agreement and purity is unreasonable and it is impossible. There are enough pros that the cons are erased imo.
