Lennon was bit before my time, and I understand he’s a cultural icon (and a good chap) so many people care- but why are we so impressed that in his final years, he started to learn that indeed fire burns and water is actually wet?
If I could go back in time, I’d climb that damned ladder and change “yes” to “no”....
It’s because he’s a hero to the left, and we get to rub it in their faces.
Because of his status as a Beatle - and the most talented of the fab four. He and McCartney wrote some beautiful tunes. My favorite: Norwegian Wood.
I also have wonderful memories of him in my NYC neighborhood. He was always out and about. His vile, senseless murder was one of the darkest days in NYC’s history.
