Perhaps a few poeople did not read the last statement from SOLT concerning the results of their investigations...

SOLT's fact-finding team has acquired information from Fr. Corapi's e-mails, various witnesses, and public sources that, together, state that, during his years of public ministry:

He did have sexual relations and years of cohabitation (in California and Montana) with a woman known to him, when the relationship began, as a prostitute; He repeatedly abused alcohol and drugs; He has recently engaged in sexting activity with one or more women in Montana; He holds legal title to over $1 million in real estate, numerous luxury vehicles, motorcycles, an ATV, a boat dock, and several motor boats, which is a serious violation of his promise of poverty as a perpetually professed member of the Society.

Sorry to say but it seems Corapi has gone back to his old ways, we can only pray he can see the light once again and come out of if permanently...but there is no longer any point in defending the indefensible...

Full release is here:

Who is the author of this essay, John Stevens?

When these charges were first made, Bishop Mulvey / SOLT could have demanded that Fr. Corapi take a drug test and a lie detector test. They could have requested (but not demanded) that his accuser do the same. Based on the results of these tests it could have been quickly determined whether any of these charges were credible or not.

How does the author know that this did not happen? Perhaps this is how his superiors were able to decide that Corapi was lying and his accusers were truthful.

The fact is that Corapi's evasiveness and disobedience to his legitimate superiors has made the original charges a moot point.

The bottom line is that even if he was innocent he should have followed the example of great saints like Padre Pio, who was falsely accused, yet he bore his cross and obeyed church authority for several YEARS until his name was cleared, that is what a man who servers GOD does, but a man who serves his own pride acts like Corapi...

Another article by Fr. Longenecker about this aspect of things (and it is funny that Fr Longenecker not so long ago wrote another article about how he is mistaken for Corapi on occasion)...

There is an absolutely great article on the Black Sheep Dog web site. I know nothing about the people involved in this disagreement beyond what I read here but the post at Black Sheep Dog entitled, Thoughts on Sheep, Sheepdogs, and Independence. applies regardless of spiritual background. I'm a sheepdog and didn't know it...as are many folks in this forum.

I am one who still supports Fr. Corapi. I do not adulate people no matter who they are. I do not place Fr. Corapi on a pedestal.

OMG, this must be how the wife of a serial adulterer thinks.

In late June Fr. Sheehan promised to do all possible to protect Fr. Corapi’s good name. On July 5th he and Fr. Medley participated in a serious violation of the Eighth Commandment by detraction against Fr. Corapi’s good name. Whether the accusations are true or not – SOLT had no business as a Catholic society in making such information public.

That is the bottom line. Fr. Corapi may be guilty of violating his vows or innocent, but we will not know the truth from SOLT's gossip.
