Give me a break. Mormon is not some slur invented by real Chrisitans or other non-Mormons. LDS members identify themselves as “Mormon” all the time.
Or is the MORMON Tabernacle Choir part of some splinter group? What about all those TV ads that end with “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints -— The Mormons”?
As for the financial issues, I don’t have any problem with the Mormon Church having all those assets.
My problem is that they teach a different “word of God” (the book of Mormon) and a different Gospel, a different “Jesus” and a different God the Father, that are are fundamentally different from the authenthic, biblical ones. Many of their teachings about God are downright blasphemous.

G. Homer Durham [1946], 160–61).
In a Mormon Sunday School lesson about this, they ask their learners:
• What can we learn from these two stories? (Answers could include that those who are dead are anxious for us to perform ordinances for them and that we should be diligent in our efforts to redeem the dead.) First of all, the Lds general authorities DO get a salary from the Lds church.
Secondly, bishops in the Lds church, while not getting a salary, somehow manage to accrue expense accounts and stipends that amounted for some to be $40,000 in the early 1990s. (What is it now? $60,000?)
And yes, that's a second "job" on top of their first. If somebody wants to reimburse my living expenses to the tune of up to $60,000 as a "second" job, let me know to where to "sign up."
