One of the subtle differences between the teaching of Christianity and the teaching of Mormonism is that Christians are married “until death do us part” while Mormons are married for all eternity. And this is no small distinction. It is clear in the Bible that there will be no marriage nor giving in marriage in eternity.
When I read that the author was a Mormon, I somehow wasn’t surprised by it. The only thing that really bothers me the most about Twilight is having a preening Vampire share the same name as myself. Ugh.

Many of the Christian denominations have bought into the whole separation of church from state to think it means and includes business ventures and this is why they are losing the culture war. Sad to say.

Please name me a Christian organization that is building a shopping mall? The closest thing I can think of was that theme park, Heritage USA in South Carolina from the 1980s -- complete with a luxury hotel -- that the corrupt Bakkers built. Heritage USA reached the level of the third-most frequented theme park in the country.
Per Wikipedia: Bakker "sold" more "exclusive partnerships" [in being able to stay @ the hotel] than could be accommodated, while raising more than twice the money needed to build the actual hotel. Well, as I mentioned in post #7, Mormons are so hung up with lambasting these past 180 years the historic worldwide Christian church that it won't acknowledge any other "saints" than themselves! Per Joseph Smith, in the Doctrines & Covenants 1:30, the Mormon church considers itself the "only true and living church on the face of the earth."
To the Mormons there were no "former-day Saints" living in the fourth (or earlier) century til the 19th century!
Do you know what that especially means on this July 4th weekend? It means that the Mormon church regards 100% of our country's founding fathers as apostates!

Started out as the "Church of Christ" 1830
Changed it to "The Church of the Latter Day Saints" in 1834
It wasn't until 1838 that it became "The CHURCH of Jesus Christ of LATTER DAY SAINTS", yes folks, notice the change of emphasis. That occured only recently.
BTW - the mormon church uses www.mormon.com (and derivitives) for itself - so they must be hung up on it as well.
Since I don’t pay attention to the holdings of which churches, and who does what with whom, and how much the Vatican owns, and how much the struggling little pentacostal churches don’t own, I don’t have to name anything.
Of course, if push came to shove, I might try to research it all, but it would have to be an extremely good day for me, since CFIDS prohibits a lot of info coming in at any one time.
I could care less about Baaker or anyone else who uses the pulpit to line their own pockets. Ninety-nine percent of the LDS churches leaders, in any capacity, are independently wealthy. They have to be: The LDS church does NOT pay them a salary.
So where is the the argument?
