Nice to see a lot of details without a lot of blame and condemnation. I will pray for Fr. Corapi.

Just listening to him, he comes across as a bit of a narcissist. Whether he is innocent or ‘guilty’, I have no opinion.

I have been unable to sleep since this announcement. John Corapi has always been one of my biggest heroes and I feel like the devil has dealt the church a horrific blow with this scandal.

May God have mercy on us.

To: fatima; lastchance

Most people whom he has helped just want a presumption of innocence and that includes yours truly. This was a good article based on known facts only. Thank you for posting it. Agree lastchance, in that, he appears to be a bipolar sufferer going through a manic stage which would leave his judgement impaired. He almost died a couple of years ago of a physical illness, coupled with his history of drugtaking, it left his psych vulnerable, and to top it all off comes this woman’s accusation, it was perhaps the straw. He’s spoken about this woman’s accusation before so it’s been working on him, she also accused some of his workers, something which knowing him, are people he protects fiercely, that, along with the many innocent brother priests who were treated badly, some dumped, by some Bishops. I think he’s taking all their pain, suffering and troubles as his own, and on their behalf will fight for changes. It’s who he is...

I was an addict (alcoholic) and he brought me home by permitting God to use him as a tool and in this capacity he’s brought many lost souls back to Him. He’ll always have my love, loyalty and respect, though will add I’m not blinded. I want the presumption of innocence for both - period.

May the good Lord protect him. May the holy Mother, and all the angels and saints pray for him. May he be treated with gentleness, kindness, and love by all concerned. Prayers for the accuser(s). Prayers for our Bishops and His Church.

“I am a retired Roman Catholic Bishop, Bishop Emeritus of Corpus Christi,”
http://abyssum.wordpress.com/2011/06/18/a-few-thoughts-on-father-corapis-announcement-yesterday/
FIRST OF ALL LET ME ESTABLISH THAT I HAVE NOT SPOKEN WITH FATHER CORAPI.

The fact that he has chosen the nom de plume of The Black Sheep Dog is revealing: he cares for the flock of sheep he has been ministering to all these years, sheep that he well knows are of the Lord’s flock, not his.

As a suspended priest he cannot function publicly as a priest, but he can continue to evangelize as long as he does not present himself to the public as a priest.

I know nothing about who or what is guilty and wrong.

My comments are on fidelity to the Church, even when she is being harsh and stubborn.

Many, mangy saints have been wrongly accused, mistreated, etc. but..... they became humble and endured.

This is lacking with Fr. Corapi.
