Billy Graham had a huge “fan ‘ base and a big media corporation to handle the rallies, the huge speeches, his books and videos, etc....AND his donations.
this is a new time, we have to reach out with social media. And the church is WAAAAAY behind on this.
Makes you wonder if the ‘devil’ is motivating him by his actions and decision to abandon his vows.
You can get his book, Life Is Worth Living. It re-chronicles a lot of his shows. One of my most treasured books.
Fr. Corapi announces he’s leaving the priesthood

I guess they are ‘misleading’ too?
Fr. Corapi said that he’ll move forward by continuing with ministry within the Church and also outside of it.
I shall continue, black sheep that I am, to speak; and sheep dog that I am, to guard the sheep this time around not just in the Church, but also in the entire world.
Under the name ‘The Black Sheep Dog,’ I shall be with you through radio broadcasts and writing. My autobiography, ‘The Black Sheep Dog,’ is almost ready for publication.
My topics will be broader than in the past, and my audience likewise is apt to be broader, he added. Ill do what I can under the circumstances.
EWTN has an interesting take on Corapi abandoning his vows.
“Fr. Corapi Has Lost It
But at this point it doesnt really matter which one was at fault or whether both were, because Fr. Corapi has taken it upon himself to end the matter by publicly abandoning his priesthood.
If his statement is any guide, this was not forced upon him. This was something he freely chose.
In fact, he may have chosen it some time ago, since his statement says that his autobiography, titled The Black SheepDog, will be published soon. If he began working on this project while he has been on hiatus then he may have chosen to leave the priesthoodor been preparing to voluntarily leave it as a contingency planfor some time.
The name of the book is also worthy of attention: The Black SheepDog. This is a portmanteau of the black sheep and sheep dog.
Black sheep is obviously a common English idiom for a member of a group (typically a family) who either has fallen from grace or who is regarded by members of the group as having fallen from grace. That fits Fr. Corapis status given the sexual misconduct allegations against him.
Whats startling is that he would identify with this label and make it his own. Its embracing an on the run identity that signals separation from and disobedience to the ecclesiastical authorities.
After all, not every person accused of sexual misconduct would embrace such a label. Many would say, Im innocent! Im a white sheep, and I look forward to vindicating myself against the charges that have been falsely lodged against me!
So the embrace of the black sheep label is itself disturbing . . . and unusual . . . a symbol of a rebel or renegade mindset.
Then theres the sheep dog part. And this is really disturbing. Even moreso than the former.
The job of a sheep dog, of course, is to herd sheepto keep them from straying from the fold, to make them go where the shepherd wants, and keep them safe from danger.
Those are obviously pastoral functionsin the proper sense. A pastor (Latin, shepherd) employs sheep dogs to help him protect and guide the sheep and maintain the integrity of the flock.
By embracing the image of a sheep dog, Fr. Corapi thus announces his intentiondespite his public abandonment of the priesthoodto continue in some form of pastoral ministry. It may not be priestlyhe may not be celebrating the sacramentsbut he still sees himself as involved in pastoral work.
But consider the snarling tone in which he writes about his relationship with bishops. Most significantly, consider this statement:
Please dont bother the bishop or complain because it will do no good and it wastes valuable time and energy, both his and yours.
It is hard to read this as anything but a statement that Fr. Corapi plans to ignore ecclesiastical supervision of any kind and continue his pastoral, sheep dog ministry with respect to the sheep of Christs flock, even if Christs duly-appointed shepherds do not want him trying to manage their flocks.
The picture painted by his statement is thus of a sheep dog out of controlone who has turned on the shepherds of the flock and decided that he, not they, knows what is best for them and is willing to defy the shepherds to their faces.
And then theres the weird aspect of the name.
The Black SheepDog?
Really?
Whatever name he may choose for himself, Fr. Corapi has forever ruined any chances he had of functioning as a Catholic priest.”

in that case, he will get the protections of the court system. which goes to prove, be careful what you wish for!
no problem. i love the Lord and His Church and try to always contend for the Faith, as i am sure you do. God bless you.
“The church cant hire one for him..he is on his own.”
Which makes the reasonable person empathetic for the priests that are falsely accused and have little financial means to defend themselves.
They are at the mercy of a Church that is full of corupt CYA Bishops who are quick to coddle the wrong priests and cutoff the right priests. Of course most are too busy finding a way to support ObamaCare and bury Pro Death zealots like Kennedy.
Catholics are quick to join the chorus of the corrupt in the Church.
“Makes you wonder if the devil is motivating him by his actions and decision to abandon his vows.”
...and the same can be said for the Church.
Very well said.
this priest spoke out against such Bishops.
Indeed!
Court cases of this nature can get rather nasty!
“EWTN has an interesting take on Corapi abandoning his vows.”
Nice loaded language to put the onus on Father Corapi. It was the Church that told him he could not act in the capacity of priest.
Your characterization of source speaks for itself EWTN did not give this take, but Jimmy Akin, who writes for the Catholic newspaper has this take.
“Whatever name he may choose for himself, Fr. Corapi has forever ruined any chances he had of functioning as a Catholic priest. “
I think the Catholic Church and his Bishop have done that quite well. Many lay evangelists do great works and I’m sure Corapi will be among that number. So Akin’s jealousy won’t be going away any time soon.
Yeah I guess the Church, the Bishops, EWTN, etc are the evil ones just picking on poor Corapi for no reason? Totally false.
They are obligated to protect the members of the community once their is an official complaint filed.
To ignore it, who be violating the obligations.
What we have here is a man who is full of demons who built a cult of personality around him. He forgot who brought him to the dance, God. He made it about him and not about the gospel. And now just 3 short months after the allegations were brought forth, he abandons his vows.
Creepy new code names (The Black Sheep Dog) and diabolical imagery in his videos.
“What we have here is a man who is full of demons who built a cult of personality around him. “
LOL, every Corapi video or EWTN broadcast of Corapi showed him pointing to God as the Way and Truth.
So, either you didn’t watch him or you are a liar. Everything in his work was within the confines and benefited the Church and God.
As Corapi states, “there are those in the hierarchy...who want me gone...so I am gone”
Yet the corrupted Bishops let Pfleger continue his ministry in outright defiance of Church rules.
These corrupted Bishops are paving a stairway alright.
Demonic?
LOL
Sheepdogs protect the flock.
If you watched his videos, you would see they are full of “I” and “Me”. He was very fond of talking about himself.
Notice in his “God Love You, God Bless You, and Good-Bye” statement on his blacksheepdog website and absence of the word “Jesus” or “Mary”. Couldn’t find time to edge in a world about our Lord.
http://theblacksheepdog.wordpress.com/
Go check yourself.
But you do read countless mentions about himself.
What Corapi is doing now is:
1) Damning the Church and its leaders.
2) Attempting to draw Catholics away to follow him.
Hmmm.. what is the name for this again?
“If you watched his videos, you would see they are full of I and Me. He was very fond of talking about himself.”
The purpose of the video is to explain why he is leaving the priesthood (or rather being forced out of the priesthood).
As to your quote above, you are incorrect. Father Corapi, only used his reflections on his past life to show his own frailty and depravity. He was a sinner and showed humility by using his own example to all.
His talks are always directed and point people to Christ, God, the Catholic Church.
