It's been 1500 years since there has been a rabbinically approved sacrifice to take place in Israel and the rabbis did approve a Gentile who trained under the leadership of selected rabbis to perform the sacrifice of two turtledoves recently in Israel. The ceremony took place in the Jordan Valley near Jericho as a number of rabbis watched to make certain all Levitical laws were kept in the offering of these two doves.
There are a number of religious Jews that have been preparing for the building of the temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem who believe that Jews need to become accustomed once again to the offering of animals for the sacrifices called for when the temple is once again standing in Jerusalem.
A rabbinically approved sacrifice being performed in Israel is tangible evidence that Bible prophecy will be fulfilled. Since the destruction of the Jewish temple in 70AD there has not been an opportunity for Jews to offer any of the required sacrifices called for under Levitical law.
Over the last 2000 years there have been several occasions in different parts of the world where rabbis would approve the offering of animals in sacrifice but nothing compared to the days when the temple was standing in Jerusalem.
Recently a Gentile, one trained by a number of rabbis, performed a sacrifice of two turtledoves in the Jordan Valley near the Dead Sea, the first rabbinically approved sacrifice in 1500 years.
This is a part of a program to prepare the Jewish people for the restoration of the sacrificial system that is called for in the first 7 chapters in the book of Leviticus. Daniel 9:27 reveals that the sacrificial system will be restored when there is a temple in Jerusalem. Even the Messiah's temple described in Ezekiel 40-46 calls for sacrifices to be restored as a part of daily Jewish life.
There will be two temples in the future for the Jewish people, one in the Tribulation period and then another in the time of the Millennial Kingdom of the future. In both of these temples, sacrifices will be made. In fact for the next temple all preparations have been made and its ready to be built in Jerusalem even right now.
A sacrifice made in Israel recently is indeed evidence that Bible prophecy will be fulfilled.
No, I don't.
which is the same manner which Catholics claim they come to their conclusions about Transubstantiation.
I don't think so.
We don't rely on the traditions of man, despite what some might say
Sure you do.
In a word, he was acting like a Troll.
That's your opinion. Others see if differently.
His posting history has shown just how troll-like his behavior can be and frankly I have no use for someone like that.
I'm not going to end up agreeing with you either. Does that automatically make me "troll like"?
The ball is in your court now.
The ball is in my court now for what?
This is surely an abomination to God!
That should be the discussion.
Now, it seems that all some want to do in their hearts is lump Protestants, Charismatics, and pre-trib rapture believers to H. Camping who is just another false prophet; warned about by Gods own word.
A false prophet is proved when what they Prophesy does not happen.
There is such broad accusation going on here, surely it is pointless to our LORD.
i didn’t see this, thanks for sharing it.
has the book of O’Marra been added to your Bible, this would make 67 books?
has the book of O’Marra been added to your Bible, this would make 67 books?
Peter is living forever in heaven. God is a God of the living, not the dead.
you can either be spiritually alive in Christ, in heaven or spiritually dead outside of Christ, in hell.
A breath of fresh air...
Knowledge and Understanding from one who actually studies the scriptures (2 Tim. 2:15) compared to those who only hear what their religion tells them the scriptures say and mean...
Thanks...
I agree...It brings us right back to Gen. 3:1
ABSOLUTELY INDEED.
It is increasingly sounding like the puppet masters have scheduled a much greater escalation toward overt WWIII for sometime between August and the end of November . . .
with Israel . . . quite possibly caught in the middle and Israel’s need to trash Iran’s nuke capacities falling in that time frame, too.
Further, that the nations involved in the Ezek 38 war . . . seem to be increasingly allying with one another and more overtly against Israel . . . concurrently with the above.
Therefore what remains to be seen . . .
and of course,
MARANATHA!
Nevertheless, for those who are still willfully blind or sleepwalking . . . they might should wake up and get their affairs and families in order.
. . . particularly get their relationship with God in super order . . .
imho.
A majority of the issues on these discussions involve Self Interpretation vs Magisterium and Sola Scriptura . These topics have been banter about for years with no resolution.
As for this dispensation one the "Burden Of Proof" is on your side to prove its authenticity and judging from the offerings I do not believe the standard has been met.
In post 173 you did list your ideas concerning different dispensations but they are your self serving ideas not buttressed with any probative verification.
In post 203 you list early non canonical works which mention the imminent return of Christ but all know that.Roman persecutions and later invasions of barbaric tribes, Vandals/Huns were the source of imminent desire for the Second Coming. These is no specific mention of the specifics of Rapture and so this fails to meet burden of proof.
In post 208 you cite an Ezekiel which does not meet the burden since it is replete with your conjecture. No burden met here.
In post 216 mention of four Latin manuscripts , Ephraem and Isidore of Seville, provides no support for the existence of the rapture belief from 4th to 9th century.
Post 220 is the death warrant which seals your doom with these assertions and in effect is tantamount to your concession speech. You state "I'll agree that one lone voice is hardly enough to confirm a doctrine's historical orthodoxy after all the standard is two or more witnesses". Game Set Match. In the trade this is known as "AN ADMISSION AGAINST SELF INTEREST"
Post 273 In support of you ideas, one introduces an Article by Thomas Ice who is hardly recognized or classified as an expert on this subject. The standard for expert witnesses to be recognized is high and Ice does not satisfy this standard.
Your source Larry Cruchfield admits that the evidence for early adherence to dispensation was rudimentary, less well defined and less sophisticated. It appears Larry is hedging his bet much like using weasel words.
Others posting in support of your position have asserted that they would hesitate to agree or disagree with this theory, hardly a ringing endorsement
IN post 324 you assert "Scripture interprets itself" Scripture lives in ones heart and so the indwelling of the Holy Spirit is the one who actuates this interpretative process. With over hundreds of thousand independent churches in this country alone how does the Spirit know which one to grace with His presence.
The self interpretative aspects of your belief is its Achilles heel. No magisterium and thus chaos reigns supreme. Sure many Catholics differ on beliefs but there is a dramatic difference, one your side never mentions. The magisterium is Spirit led and if some Catholic protests against it guess what they become, "Protestants"/ Catholics In Name Only.
Nobody is going to convince the other so let us just peaceably cease and desist.
It would be interesting to see if you were to be so bold as Quix to describe what you think it might look like.
Sorry to be so tardy in responding.
This should do:
Finally, we believe, according to the Word of God, when the time appointed by the Lord (which is unknown to all creatures) is come, and the number of the elect complete, that our Lord Jesus Christ will come from heaven, corporally and visibly, as he ascended with great glory and majesty, to declare himself Judge of the quick and the dead, burning this old world with fire and flame to cleanse it. And then all men will personally appear before this great Judge, both men and women and children, that have been from the beginning of the world to the end thereof, being summoned by the voice of the archangel, and by the sound of the trumpet of God. For all the dead shall be raised out of the earth, and their souls joined and united with their proper bodies in which they formerly lived. As for those who shall then be living, they shall not die as the others, but be changed in the twinkling of an eye, and from corruptible become incorruptible. Then the books (that is to say, the consciences) shall be opened, and the dead judged according to what they shall have done in this world, whether it be good or evil. Nay, all men shall give an account of every idle word they have spoken, which the world only counts amusement and jest; and then the secrets and hypocrisy of men shall be disclosed and laid open before all.
And, therefore, the consideration of this judgment is justly terrible and dreadful to the wicked and ungodly, but most desirable and comfortable to the righteous and the elect; because then their full deliverance shall be perfected, and there they shall receive the fruits of their labor and trouble which they have borne. Their innocence shall be known to all, and they shall see the terrible vengeance which God shall execute on the wicked, who most cruelly persecuted, oppressed, and tormented them in this world; and who shall be convicted by the testimony of their own consciences, and, being immortal, shall be tormented in that everlasting fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels.
But on the contrary, the faithful and elect shall be crowned with glory and honor; and the Son of God will confess their names before God his Father, and his elect angels; all tears shall be wiped from their eyes; and their cause, which is now condemned by many judges and magistrates as heretical and impious, will then be known to be the cause of the Son of God. And, for a gracious reward, the Lord will cause them to possess such a glory as never entered into the heart of man to conceive.
Therefore we expect that great day with a most ardent desire, to the end that we may fully enjoy the promises of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.
I don't often jump in on these religion forums but when I do, I really try to keep my heart motivated by the fact that Christ's will is for us to be united in Him and the great commission.
I feel the sorrow of Christ at our squabbling by the Holy Spirit, and I know that he would like us to do a better job of discerning his priorities in our lives.
I think of the woes that Jesus gave to the Pharisees and their desire for the approval of man over Gods.
(Are we like the Pharisees?)
Jesus is is our only hope, and our trust and guidance should be in God, through Christ only, with the promised Holy Spirit. The three in one that has always been.
Our religiousness is only a necessity that comes by default because we are in the flesh and we need turmoil and conflict so we can see it resolved in God's future glory as it has been promised.
How much does it matter what exact physical form it comes? Religion can never purify us on its own and in this age for it is still only sin to God, but nessesary for man.
God knows this, for he has done it and has overcome it.
I'm not lecturing anyone, I'm spilling my guts.
