He gasps for breath. Within a minute his face turns red and he chokes as he pleads for water.

"He died peacefully, more or less in the arms of his wife, quietly."
Interesting definition of dying at peace. Not that I think that people should ever consider suicide under any circumstances, but there are far more quicker, and hence, less painful methods of ending one's own life.
doesn’t sound all that “dignified” either.
Shame on Switzerland for allowing this stuff !
Meanwhile, his “loving” wife and their “loving” children who allowed him to do this (put him up to it?) will soon inherit his millions.....
Not only quicker and less painful...there are far less public way to kill yourself.
He was a millionaire. He could have hired a boat, headed out to the middle of the Atlantic, tied some weights to his legs and gone overboard...without a single camera rolling.
This “Happy Event” was less about the suicide and more about the publication of a homicide, that is, an attack on those who believe in the value of life and how our purpose is to preserve and improve life as much as possible, because that is God’s law.
Just as homosexuality is less about homosexual sex and relations and far more about pushing the homosexual agenda, that is, an attack on the definition of the family and the purpose and rules of sexuality, which are also God’s laws.
“there are far more quicker, and hence, less painful methods of ending one’s own life.”

How about just closing the garage and let the motor run.
Many die that way, usually unintentionally, but it is quite cheap.
even a dog gets two shots when euthanized, to make the passing peaceful
1) Spasms in the throat
2) anxiety
3) color red skin (not blue as one would see in Nembutal overdose)
4) convulsions.
Strychnine does 1 2 and 4 (some of our dogs died when someone laced meat with strychnine).
But the red skin sounds more like cyanide.
