Hell,...a COMMUNIST took the White House! A MUSLIM took the White House after only 7 years since they killed 3,000 Americans!

My thoughts exactly.

I couldn’t care less about him being a Mormon. But his endorsement of ethanol subsidies and belief in global warming mean I will not leave my house on election day if he is the nominee.

If Sarah Palin becomes a Mormon, then yes, a Mormon can take the White House.

Sorry, but if Sarah Palin became a temple Mormon...
...someone who believes they are a "god-in-embryo" enroute to becoming a full-grown god who will be worshiped and prayed to and steal glory from the One and Only true God...
...at that point in your hypothetical she would become an idolatrous glory-hound depicting a tremendous lack of discernment and galloping gullibility

Sorry. But in your hypothetical I wouldn't vote for someone who thinks the White House is just a career stop on their way to a great White Throne to be worshiped and glorified.

Listen to the audio and hear Beck instantly dismiss Palin as he dismisses all the other challengers to Romney, and then tells us about the one “adult” who Beck hopes that the republican voters will accept the “hard news” from.

he has to overcome the widespread perception that in office he will be the mouthpiece of a cult that wants the White House in order to realise a particular celestial heaven

Does his record in Massachusetts indicate that he used his office to advance any Mormon doctrines or the specific interests of the LDS church? (As opposed to advancing big government in general, which can be found among politicians of all faiths).

I couldn’t care less about the Mormonism. All I know is that the screeching about it that comes from the “right” is pretty reminiscent of the screeching from the left about baptists in office.

My congressman is a baptist minister and former dean of a seminary school. The liberals constantly throw tantrums about his imposition of a theocracy although I don’t believe he’s ever done so much as led the prayer in congress.

And while the US Constitution affirms that ‘no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust’ (Article VI), it must be observed that Republican candidates are invariably asked at some point if they believe the Bible to be the inviolable Word of God, and none has ever quoted Article VI in response. It appears that one only becomes President of the United States by the adoption of the American Creed and with the majority assent of the American Church.

Article VI is grossly misunderstood and stated time and again on this issue. If forbids religious tests BY LAW or STATUTE - examples from the early period of our country where Catholics were forbidden by law to hold public office. Article VI does NOT apply to individual voters making their judgement of the candidate's qualification for the position.

Time and again we will hear the bleat from them NOT to use mutt's (or huntsman if he throws his hat in the ring) religion as a basis for people to judge him by. Yet his supporters are using mutt's mormonism as a plus because he comes from an oppressed minority (caller to Rush Limbaugh, May 27, 2011).

Needless to say, anyone who pronounces faith in a proven con-man (joseph smith) and works of fiction (bom, pogp, D&C) should have their judgement questioned BECAUSE of that religion.

That is why I posted the audio link, so that they could hear him speak the words himself.

GLENN BECK, after quickly dismissing Governor Palin:
“I have to tell you that Mitt Romney could be the only guy that could win, and I don’t know if he could because I think that Americans are going to be I mean, this country is going to be in deep trouble by 2012, and the next term, if it’s not decided this term, the next term will decide our fate. Then I hope that Americans are ready for an adult and are ready for hard news.”

Romney forever sends in the "Romney people"
to attack his potential opponents
OR to play the "Mormon card".

Will the issues be addressed?
Romney's BIG DIG coverup?
Romney's RomneyCARE imposition?
Romney's love of TARP? and Global Warming?
Romney's Orders to the Clerks against the MASS Constitution?
Romney's Advancement of DNC Judges to free murderers?

No. They will not.

That was all that one could expect
from such 'rhymes with Mitt' .... until
karma finally ran over Romney's dogma.

FLASHBACK:

Remember how jealous Mitt Romney was when Gov. Palin
went on the Jay Leno show?

Mitt Romney actually went on Letterman
(jealously choosing the same night as Gov. Palin on Leno,
and after Letterman attacked Gov. Palin’s daughters!

Mitt RomneyCARE (D, Shapeshifter): "I'm not running as the Republican view or a continuation of Republican values.
That's not what brings me to the race.

(Backstabber Romney Video, accessed 9/19/07)

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party
over to the traitors in the battle just ended.
We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged
to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support.
Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates
wouldn’t make any sense at all.""

--  President Ronald Reagan

Romney (Carpetbagger shapeshifter, D, RINO): ”I'm very clear I think, to the people across the Commonwealth
my "R" didn't stand so much for Republican as it does for reform.
"
(Flip-flop chameleon artiste and Mitt RomneyCARE
Video, accessed 9/19/07)

"A political party cannot be all things to all people.
It must represent certain fundamental beliefs
which must not be compromised to political expediency
or simply to swell its numbers."

--  President Ronald Reagan

That is how the battle between Christianity, and anti-Christianity can look to some, but yes, the battle exists, it did before America even was founded.

Exactly correct. If Romney buys into the whole LDS stack of BS, it's an excellent reason to question his intellectual judgment.

That's different from suggesting that he is some sort of front man for a satanic cult takeover of America, which to me is tinfoil territory.

Mitt’s Mormonism is completely irrelevant because, when it comes down to it, he was only a consolation prize candidate anyway (if that).

Once some of these other candidates start rolling, Mitt will be dropkicked off the playing field anyway. Any polls and fundraising he’s “won” so far has been based purely on name recognition.

And name recognition alone doesn’t get you as far as it used to in politics. We The People now have a lot more avenues through which to get to know candidates and raise money for them directly, without the old-boy network’s help.

Well, I’m glad we can agree on the first part.

However, on the second part, I think it is a little hyperbolic to say he is the front man for a satanic cult takeover - I don’t think anyone has said that in those terms. What HAS been emphasized imho, is that as a mormon mutt has incorporated the myths of mormonism and converted them into ‘facts’. As a temple mormon he has sworn consecrated EVERYTHING he has to the building up of the LDS Church -

http://www.ldsendowment.org/proper.html

What has also been presented is a historical basis from mormon prophets, apostles and lds scholarship showing that beginning with Joseph Smith, through to the present day, that mormon leadership believes it will eventually establish a theocratic rule over america and that the present crisis being generated by 0bama is the crisis prophesied aka the white horse prophecy -

http://www.utlm.org/onlineresources/whitehorseprophecy.htm

So here we have a politically powerful mormon who grew up hearing the teachings of the white horse prophecy - so how do you expect him to respond IF he gets elected? Think he WON’T feel the pressure to fulfill the prophecy?

This doesn’t make it some clandestine plot - but it DOES point to his motivations and potential actions in the WH should that occur.

Does his record in Massachusetts indicate that he used his office to advance any Mormon doctrines or the specific interests of the LDS church?

You seem to neglect the reality that a Mormon is beholden to his "prophet." A laissez-faire "prophet" running the church could be in now -- and could be replaced by an "activist" "prophet."

For example, former Lds "prophet" Ezra Taft Benson, had he had a POTUS under his thumb, could have certainly put pressure on that thumb. His "14 fundamentals" of a "prophet" certainly had several of them that strayed into public policy issues.

The issue then becomes more than Romney's record. Now if you want to address the "record" of the Mormon top hierarchy, that would have more to bear on the matter.

But even then, the same disclaimer you hear on investments re: "past performance is not indicative..." also applies to wildcard Mormon "prophets" in the future.

We don’t know what was said in his private meeting with his holy prophet, when he sought permission to run.
