Not too long ago I read here that the Birthrate in Russia is actually increasing. This was based on the number of children stores popping up and the sale of baby items such as strollers ans bassinets. The article attributed part of the increase to the rise of Putin which lead to a more positive outlook of their future. A lot of Russians love Putin and are having more babies because of it. Of course our domestic birthrate has dropped here in the last couple of years.
It’s true. The birthrate has rebounbded from 1.16 children/woman to 1.6. Still considerably short of stability, but a remarkable growth nonetheless.
