Agreed.

As I mentioned on another thread, I was a Catholic convert in college. But it took practically no time at all to learn all the Latin responses and also learn to be a Mass server.

For those who grew up as Catholics, it was no problem at all.

As an Altar Boy in 5th grade, at ten years of age, the Mass was spoken in Latin as it had been for the preceding almost 2000 years. (1961 or so). Then, two years or so later, Latin was purged. I can still recite "The Suscipiot", wasting a significant amount of memory...other than winning an occasional bet :{)

We Altar Boys had God's secret phone number...Et Cum Spiri, Two Two Oh.
