A cleric is arrested for a hideous crime. It gets posted as flame bait, clearly. Why let it stand? Obviously no one claims that the Catholic Church supports this crime. What good can come of this kind of flame bait?

I think that it speaks to the hypocrisy of the Catholic Church as an organization that has trouble with sexual sin within its very high ranks. To very many people, it appears that the organization is doing very little to fight it.
As far as the flame bait goes, dont throw gas on the fire and it usually dies down, if , in fact, it is flame bait.
Precisely! The objective is clearly not good, but furthering the un-Christian agenda of that evil Cult that calls itself the OPC.
Unless there is a compelling argument that the deed is in line with doctrines of any faith or denominations then these stories belong in the News Forum where all of the ugliness and personal agendas can be addressed truthfully and fully without the interference or biased protections of the moderators or manipulated forum rules.
This is as legitimate a story for the Religion Forum as details of the crimes of Jeffery Dahmer because he was a Protestant. Only one with un-Christian motives would try to pass this off as a religion thread.
