I don’t know where you get Wednesday from, but the Jews were in a hurry to get him buried because the next day was the sabbath.

All Hebrew Holy Days are considered Sabbath - even especially Passover.

The Sabbath was a ‘high day’(Jn.19:31), the Passover, not the Saturday.

Holy days and feast days were also considered sabbaths.
