If I understand you correctly there was not any true Christianity until the Reformation? That before that there were so many errors that any truth was unknown to the faithful only to be brought into the light by the Reformers?
Pride was Satan's downfall. Seek truth with childlike humility, and your shall find. This requires a soft contemplative, prayerful approach, not a boasting bravado. JMHO
