Par for the course.....
It would be an interesting exercise for some Catholic to do some time to give up all focus on Mary for Lent. To focus ONLY on Jesus and Him alone.
After all, it’s HIS death that Easter is all about. HE’S the one who came to earth, lived a sinless life, and died for our forgiveness and redemption.
Give up praying to her and all the other dead people and pray only to God the Father, as instructed by Jesus Himself.
It makes sense to me. if we can,t believe what the Bible says with out doctoring it up with a bunch of baloney we simply don,t believe it.
It's a real shame to see someone claim that Christ lied to the thief on the cross. That's a big deal, especially for anyone who sometimes quotes Scripture. Scripture they obviously only use in bits and pieces to suit their own personal preconceptions rather than to guide them to the truth.
You are correct, beliefs in Marian Dogma are not optional.
VERY WELL PUT.
TERMINALLY WRONG AGAIN.
Perhaps from chronic practice?
Mary was assumed into heaven. That is not the same as ascending. She was assumed into heaven by the power of Christ.
Catholics are to believe Mary was immaculately conceived and that she was bodily assumed into heaven.
There are other universal teachings of the faith that did not have to be defined ex cathedera to be regarded as binding on the faithful. Such as Mary being a ever Virgin. This means not only was she a virgin when Jesus was conceived and born but she remained a virgin for the rest of her natural life.
Apparitions are a matter of private devotion not public revelation so we do not have to believe in them.
The fact that Protestants do not understand Hyperdulia does not change what it actually is in Catholic and Orthodox teaching. It certainly is not idolatry. For one thing Mary is not a goddess so a depiction of her in the strictest sense is not an idol. Anymore than a picture of George Washington is an idol.
Well, if it was in a movie entertainment vehicle, then it must be twoo!

I realize the Jews kept lent but they also kept the sabbath which most protestant or the Catholic church don,t keep,
and it is amazing to me that although there are so many differences between the two church,s, the Catholic church changed the sabbath to sunday and got no argument even though there is no scripture to back it up unless you start doing what the Catholics are accused of with reason of course, and that is putting words in the Bible.
This seems the best response. Akathist Hymn To The Theotokos.
‘Rejoice, O Bride unwedded, the world’s salvation.”

The rest is merely writings of the saints and popes....and culture. The essence of the Catholic faith and what we are required to believe is in the creed....ALL of it.
Even tho your popes and magisterium tell you otherwise??? Is that in your catechism???
Exactly...Years ago, I've asked several Catholics if they were Christians...They would say, 'no, I'm a Catholic'...
All catholics have been duped, they just can’t accept that fact.
Thank you.
How charitable of you. Do you include the Orthodox in your claim?
If I understand you correctly there was not any true Christianity until the Reformation? That before that there were so many errors that any truth was unknown to the faithful only to be brought into the light by the Reformers?
You may want to edit that sentence :)
