I’m assuming that you’re referencing the wire bindings on the book shown above? I would suggest that, while it may look like a modern invention, it really isn’t. Anyone who has ever studied ancient warfare knows that the Romans, in particular, were extremely talented when it came to matters of engineering and making wire like this would have been no different, especially considering that it had military applications. While this was found in a region of Israel, it would still have been a technology that the people living in that area at the time would have been familiar with, if for no other reason than they could have seen it in use by the Romans.
