A Call for Prayer

On Ash Wednesday I learned that a former employee sent a three-page letter to several bishops accusing me of everything from drug addiction to multiple sexual exploits with her and several other adult women. There seems to no longer be the need for a complaint to be deemed “credible” in order for Church authorities to pull the trigger on the Church’s procedure, which was in recent years crafted to respond to cases of the sexual abuse of minors. I am not accused of that, but it seems, once again, that they now don’t have to deem the complaint to be credible or not, and it is being applied broadly to respond to all complaints. I have been placed on "administrative leave" as the result of this.

I’ll certainly cooperate with the process, but personally believe that it is seriously flawed, and is tantamount to treating the priest as guilty “just in case”, then through the process determining if he is innocent. The resultant damage to the accused is immediate, irreparable, and serious, especially for someone like myself, since I am so well known. I am not alone in this assessment, as multiple canon lawyers and civil and criminal attorneys have stated publicly that the procedure does grave damage to the accused from the outset, regardless of rhetoric denying this, and has little regard for any form of meaningful due process.

All of the allegations in the complaint are false, and I ask you to pray for all concerned.

I thought it would be useful to post his comments, thought they are found in other articles on this subject.

I have met Father Corapi on a couple of occasions. I even had lunch with him as a volunteer for his weekend in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Good man. It is my opinion this is Satan's work to accuse him.

Thankfully I can in this country deem Father Corapi innocent entirely. He is NOT guilty until he is found guilty, and many of us are at peace that he will not be found guilty. Father Corapi is a huge affront to Satan, combative, straight forward and masculine. All these things Satan despises, and frankly are a threat to some in the Church.

Yes, we have been disappointed before and shocked by the guilt of so many fallen priests, but somehow this seems different. God alone knows what He is permitting here and Father Corapi is just the victim to be willing and able to stand when others will faint. Love and prayers to our friend and priest.

Thanks for the post! Someone sent us Father Corapi's statement shortly after it was published, so I have read it, and I'm holding out commentary in this regard until more information rolls in (he's innocent until proven otherwise, right?).

That being said, I realize this is a different priest, and a different case that is not connected (hopefully) to Euteneuer, but I wanted to drop a link to the statement given by the parents of the "gravely harmed" woman in Euteneuer's case because I've come to find out as the weeks go by since its issue, that many people have not read it, and maybe they would like to.
