Have a look at this:

Is Palin falling into the same chasm as Beck?
I didn’t say ‘most’, I said ‘vast’.
okay, Jesus taught people to pray and the church has lost the way...it is not a bunch of talking to God...sorry.
Great summery T!!
Hypocrite! Here you can't stand some discerning statements being made about one man (& one man's religion), but in post #189, as you were defending self-focused, self-directed, self-intuited, fleshly-energized, self-dependent selfist Roy Masters, you couldn't wait to rush into this thread & dig into the Christian church as being "blind mostly" and ignorant of what they do!
Thereby you've judged not just one man, but MOST of the Christian church!
What? Do you don some sort of Supreme Court of Religions' robe? Are you some sort of "eye justice" who has examined the spiritual sight of all Christians and have thus judged them as "mostly blind?"
You have this great license to judge complete strangers, but you get bent out of shape when someone exercises spiritual discernment and applies it to single men like Beck & Masters? Two-faced one!
ALL: Quote of Fabian, post #189: And anyone who thinks that Roy Masters is a cult leader really needs to get their heads examined! Good lord, I mean it does not take a rocket scientist to see this man has the simplest and highest tech method to finding God. That is something the church has lost! If they had it, we would not be in the fix as a nation that we are in now! I blame the church for much...but I also forgive them because they are blind mostly and do not know what the heck they are doing.
Dismiss whatever you want. Just try reading the four Gospels where Jesus speaks to the Pharisees about their hard hearts; about when He constantly broke Sabbath rules to heal; etc. Course, you know I’m right or you wouldn’t persist in this.
That is a silly statement as Roy does not in any way think that he is Jesus..only that he no longer sins...just like Jesus taught! Go and sin no more...right? Are you going to make up some excuse why we can keep on sinning now? Don’t bother, it is just a bunch of bahloney.
I don’t think so.
Why would those pictures indicate that?
It’s funny - I have no idea which church any of my fellow FI’s worship or attend, if any, with the exception of Colorcountry and Reaganaut whom I know personally.
I wonder if any lurkers are confused that we are not pushing a particular denomination?
Oh I see - Roy no longer sins. Well good on him, he no longer needs Jesus I guess. As for me, I need Him desperately. And I can go straight to Him any time I like, which is about every five minutes. Why would I need Roy.
What chasm would that be?
o you are so full of it...and are projecting your own being bent out of shape onto me. That is always what darkness does..project and you cannot see it. Roy’s teaching of simple quiet pray speaks for itself and if you need to denegrade that good man, than I see you are full of darkness masquarading as the light. Good luck with that! And if the church has not lost it’s way, why the heck are we being taken over by communist/socialists? Give me a break..you are in denial my friend.
If he is discovered in a sin, what will you do then? To whom will you go?
More of Fabian donning his Supreme Court of Religions robes...
Here come de judge...here come de judge...
How far along are you in your discipleship of Roy? Appears there is some anger and bitterness that need working out. Or are those not sins in Roy’s world?
(And thereby Masters offers false hope that they, too, outside of Jesus Christ in the next world, can escape their sins and sin nature)
(Yeah, Masters USES Christian vocab like "meditation"...but Masters is a hypnotist from way back & advocates brainwashing self-hypnosis...Sirhan Sirhan often engaged in frequent self-hypnosis...and would write over & over again, "RFK must die!" Since Masters is also into the New Age/Hindu concept of self-realization, what have you "realized" about yourself other than you are a sinner who judges the entire Christian church?)

Elsie,
I notice how the Mormons keep using the word “Atonement” rather than to say “our Savior” like the Christians do. Or that Jesus suffered and died for our sins, died on the cross, etc....
To me, the way they use word atonement feels like it puts a distance between me and the Lord. Its like, Jesus is described as nothing more than a stepping stone. Every time I see how the Morms use “atonement” I want to scream out, “Jesus is our savior!” He is more than the act of atonement, he is our Lord and savior, he suffered and died for our sins.....
I don’t know why but I find when they use that “word”, which I won’t repeat cause it’s making me upset but its like they are avoiding what Jesus did and moving right along to Joseph Smith and the book of Mormon. Am I wrong for believing that?
In the archives of the temple, I saw in a book, in bold handwriting, the names of the Founding Fathers and others, including Columbus and other great Americans, for whom the work had been done in the house of the Lord. This is all one great program on both sides of the veil. We are fortunate to be engaged in it on this side of the veil. I think the Lord expects us to take an active part in preserving the Constitution and our freedom.
The Founding Fathers of this nation, those great men, appeared within those sacred walls of the St. George Temple and had their vicarious work done for them. President Wilford Woodruff spoke of it in these words: "Before I left St. George, the spirits of the dead gathered around me, wanting to know why we did not redeem them. Said they, `You have had the use of the Endowment House for a number of years, and yet nothing has ever been done for us. We laid the foundation of the government you now enjoy, and we never apostatized from it, but we remained true to it and were faithful to God.'"
After he became President of the Church, President Wilford Woodruff declared that "those men who laid the foundation of this American government were the best spirits the God of heaven could find on the face of the earth. They were choice spirits [and] were inspired of the Lord."
The temple work for the fifty-six signers of the Declaration of Independence and other Founding Fathers has been done. All these appeared to Wilford Woodruff when he was president of the St. George Temple. President George Washington was ordained a high priest at that time. You will also be interested to know that, according to Wilford Woodruff's journal, John Wesley, Benjamin Franklin, and Christopher Columbus were also ordained high priests at that time. When one casts doubt about the character of these noble sons of God, I believe he or she will have to answer to the God of heaven for it. Yes, with Lincoln I say: "To add brightness to the sun or glory to the name of Washington is . . . impossible. Let none attempt it. In solemn awe pronounce the name and in its deathless splendor, leave it shining on."
