An 8.9 magnitude earthquake in Japan has hit with a ferocious tsunami.
Its the largest earthquake in the history of Japan. This on the heels of the quake that just rocked Christchurch, New Zealand.
Friends, I believe that these are signs of the times, without question.
There are many signs of the times Jesus told us to look for, which point to His return. Jesus told us one of those signs is that there would be an increase in earthquakes.
And there will be great earthquakes, and in various places plagues and famines; and there will be terrors and great signs from heaven (Luke 21:11).
We will see more of this in the future.
We have always had earthquakes, hurricanes, and tsunamis, but you can expect to see more of them as we get closer to Christs return.
According to the U.S. Geological Society, earthquakes are increasing. For the past five decades, every decade has seen an increased in the number of earthquakes. Not just minor ones, but Killer Quakes, and this one has been one of the strongest ever.
Unrest in the Middle East
Then you look at all that is happening in the Middle East, especially in Egypt and Libya, and we wonder, are these signs of the times?
I believe they are.
I want to talk about that this coming Sunday at Harvest Riverside. All of this will be broadcast live online at www.harvest.org.
Clearly, the Japanese children must pay for my sins.
Possibly. Need more evidence.
Get a grip.
So, bottom line, the Earth isnt becoming more active, more dangerous, or even out of control. Despite the fear mongering and what esteemed mainstream media networks would have you believe, the simple reality is that the numbers prove things are happening at an expected rate. Keep that in mind the next time a large earthquake happens and everyone is wondering why the Earth seems so active!

Mean while in Tehran, and every other extremist Muslim area they are probably saying “Allah is Punishing the infidels in Japan for not following the will of Allah.” Disasters can be interpreted anyway you want, they are still disasters whether they be acts of God or nature. One could blame the earth for getting old and starting to wrinkle too. Its not like it hasn’t happened in the past, its just that man didn’t have the the communications they now have to spread the word of the disaster. In ancient times they didn’t know that Japan existed i.e. 1000 B.C.. How many Tsunamis did The Asian Pacific experience back then? Any records or were they treated like a Monsoon? Earth will not destroy man, man will destroy man before the earth does.
Just so. What a bizarre statement.
A voice of reason!
Stop for a second and think. In any persons lifetime there will be multiple great natural disasters somewhere in the world.
No they're not. They're a sign of plate tectonics.
When trying to explain physical phenomena let's stick to science, m'kay?
This is just a prelude. When a quarter or more of the population is getting whacked at a crack, then you know things are getting serious.
Here we go again. Another preacher jumps the shark. I used to respect Chuck.
Are you an idiot in real life also, or do you just play one on FreeRepublic. What a stupid comment.
I meant Greg...
“Its the largest earthquake in the history of Japan.”
Maybe the largest since modern instrumentation, but in the history of Japan? Could be something like this just happens once every 1000-100000 years or so.
Freegards
Calm down. The man is clearly being facetious. He forgot the /s tag.
That sounds like a statement from “The Patriot”
Uniformitarianism
Yes the tsunami was a bad thing but the storm surge from a major hurricane striking the Gulf Coast is much worse. Think about 25 feet of water moved by 150 mph winds and driving rain with tornadoes whirling all about.
The only possible aspect of the Japanese tsunami making it more dangerous than the storm surge from a hurricane was depending on where the tsunami struck, there may not have been ample time to seek adequate shelter. For those who chose to ignore the warning, their example will serve as a lesson to future generations of Japanese living in low lying coastal regions.
God gave you a couple thousand whipping boys.
