Donald Cardinal Wuerl, worst in show of the remaining American cardinals who are active as diocesan ordinaries, will turn 75 and be required to submit his resignation as DC Archbishop on November 12, 2015. With good fortune, that resignation will be accepted immediately and he will be replaced by a Catholic. Not that I am counting the days or anything.
Very good. I agree with you - the last five years have seen a substantial decline in the numbers of openly apostate bishops, Wuerl was never a leader, but here he has simply outlasted his worse brethren. Would that God bless us with Catholic bishops...
However, with the Vatican slowly zeroing in on the USCCB and ridding it of its heretics and non Catholics, we have greater hope now than at any time since the gutting of the Church as a result of Vatican II.
