Each week its the same thing. Our players run up and down the court in a freakish Tasmanian frenzy. If we call any plays at all, they are completely lost in execution. I sit there watching, frustrated and increasingly angry.
Guard your man, the coach chants.
Man? Man! Are you serious? Guard the post! Guard the post! Why would you ever run a man defense against this offense?
Get open! Get open!
Seriously? What kind of advice is that? Get open? Run a pick for goodness sake. Make him open!
Shoot! Shoot
No! Dont shoot! Go to the hole! Go to the hole! I may go completely crazy if this mindlessness keeps up.
What? What is Coach doing now? No! Not him! On the bench? You cant be serious. He is our best player! You cant put him on the bench! Are you trying to give the game away?
Oh, no! Look at the clock! Coach! Look at the clock! You need to call a . . . Oh, well. Game is over.
Same story. Different week. Its as if they dont know a thing about the game of basketball. If they kept score at this I just know we would have lost again. Eight and under basketball can be so frustrating!
Have you ever thought about how God must think of us as He peers down from heaven?
Run the play! Run the play! . . . .Thats not the play! Thats not the play!
Defense! Do you know nothing of defense?
Take the shot! Take the shot!
Rebound! Rebound!
Dont hog the ball! Dont hog the ball!
Argh! Its as if you dont know a thing about the faith you proclaim!
Our opponent is well organized. Rest assured that he has thoroughly thought through his game plan. He prepared it specifically with you in mind. He knows your weaknesses and fully intends to exploit them. He hates you. He likes you slow, ignorant, complacent and defeated.
Get in shape. Get your head in the game. Know the playbook. Manage the clock for time disappears quickly. Help your teammate. Play to win.
1 Corinthians 9:25-27 (New King James Version)
25 And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. 26 Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. 27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.

They may not know a thing about basketball right now, but if you explain what a shoe contract is, they would learn the sport in a hurry.
“Have you ever thought about how God must think of us as He peers down from heaven?”
Yes. He loves us, unconditionally.
Thanks, but I thought this was going to be about this administration’s approach to foreign policy. God bless.

But His anger knows no bounds and He has got to be losing patience with these pitiful creatures on this insignificant planet in the backwater of the Universe.
“Be not deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. For what things a man shall sow, those also shall he reap. For he that soweth in his flesh, of the flesh also shall reap corruption. But he that soweth in the spirit, of the spirit shall reap life everlasting. Galatians 6:7-8

I seriuously doubt he thinks of His creation as an insignificant backwater. :)

Considering the infinite expanse of His Universe, only man could consider this planet as anything more than a backwater. Who is to say that man is not one of millions of intelligent species in the Universe and that we are one of the lesser lights.
Man crucified His Savior; who is to say that other more enlightened species accepted Him, without reservation. Not I, for what God has created once, He can create an infinite number of times and in an infinite number of ways.
This is where His Son was born!
