The district attorney believes (Monsignor) Lynn knowingly recommended abusive priests be reassigned, without ever warning the parishes.

"They did in fact re-offend," said Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams. "They did in fact rape and sodomize other children."

Nothing changes.

The archdiocese is not commenting on recent legal action, but church officials have vowed to do better.

This would be LOL funny if it wasn't so disgraceful. 'Vowed to do better"?? It wouldn't take an awful lot to do "better".

Why was it necessary to change the title of this article to all capitals?

I see the Catholic church is still disobeying the instructions of God to deal with the immoral person in its midst and expel him.

1 Corinthians 5:1-13 1It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that is not tolerated even among pagans, for a man has his father’s wife. 2And you are arrogant! Ought you not rather to mourn? Let him who has done this be removed from among you.

3For though absent in body, I am present in spirit; and as if present, I have already pronounced judgment on the one who did such a thing. 4When you are assembled in the name of the Lord Jesus and my spirit is present, with the power of our Lord Jesus, 5you are to deliver this man to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord.

6 Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? 7Cleanse out the old leaven that you may be a new lump, as you really are unleavened. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. 8Let us therefore celebrate the festival, not with the old leaven, the leaven of malice and evil, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

9I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people— 10 not at all meaning the sexually immoral of this world, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world. 11But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of brother if he is guilty of sexual immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler—not even to eat with such a one. 12For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge? 13God judges those outside. "Purge the evil person from among you."

The key word is accused. Those accusations should be investigated fully by law enforcement If found to have merit then charges should be filed. If charges are filed the accused should be tried (unless they opt to plead guilty or no contest). If found guilty they should serve jail time for as long as the law demands.

Oh and victims should have recourse in civil court no matter the outcome of any criminal proceedings.

I believe this is related to the grand jury investigation that was recently released. You might want to find it and post a link. This is the same grand jury that investigated the abortionist Gosnell (at least it was convened by the same D.A.

From what I remember reading it the Grand Jury did a very thorough job of investigating the Diocese. They did not have any bones to pick with the Church and their motive was only to protect the victims and seek justice for them. Many Catholics served on the Grand Jury and they are to be commended for their unflinching exposure of this foulness.

Sadly, every Catholic that has contributed their hard earned resources to build schools and carry out the missions of their church has been victims too.
They've been defrauded as the money they gave to build up their parish is now going to pay for those who preyed upon them and their children.
It's like a tax on the sheep to support the wolves.
