Take how you want, but don't claim to read my mind.

“The Law of Eternal Progression”

Never heard of this. Where do I find this in the bible?

Thanks for posting this.

Mormon doctrine is making more and more sense.

Yes, our Father must be raising us up to be LIKE Him. Just like any other parent(s).

Do puppies grow up to be cats? Or lion cubs, tigers?

Thanks again!

Yep....they are surely not in conformity to the Christian faith by any means...but they do enjoy hooking people in by hyjacking Christian termonology, so typical of cults and false religions, who masqurade as something which they are not.

Why is this brought up all the time? It seems that something like this can be found on FR every few weeks.

People are being mislead into thinking that Mormonism is Christianity, which it is not.

"Any religion that says you’ll be a god in the afterlife is not Christianity. Only the devil would promise you such a thing."

Very true. No Christian religion, especially the one True Church, says anything of the sort. No mere mortal can become a God, or even God-like. We are just mere schmoes.

In Christianity, we are servants of the Lord.

I understand that, but it’s always the same people that are responding.

re: “Mormon doctrine is making more and more sense. Yes, our Father must be raising us up to be LIKE Him. Just like any other parent(s). Do puppies grow up to be cats? Or lion cubs, tigers?”

And, human infants grow up to be adult humans - not God.

No where in the Old or New Testament does it ever say or imply that we will become a God. There is only one God. The Old Testament book of Isaiah is very explicit:

Isaiah 43:10 (KJV)
“Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.”

Mormon doctrine is making more and more sense.

You just revealed you are hooked, being hooked or swallowed the bait altogether....and who your father really is. That would not be the Father of Christianity.

What qualifies as a Christian?

At my church we use the Apostles' Creed to answer that question.

Thanks. It has been said by many, and I think you would agree, that we are not human beings having a spiritual experience, but spiritual beings having a human experience.

Personally, I would feel very blessed if I were lucky enough to become an angel. Having the heavenly means to help others would be terrific!

Still, an open mind is a wonderful thing... I will not shut the door to whatever God's plan might be or to His possibilities...

PS: even Pat Robertson of 700 Club fame (who is hardly Mormon friendly), said in one of his books, that in heaven we may go on to be in charge of our own planets. For what it's worth.

What is someone called, that is in charge of their own planet? What does that job entail?

You havent? It is right next to the "Trinity" verse and the "Hypostatic Union" verse.
