If you want some examples, I’d recommend reading through Quix’s posting history.

Metmom was the one who brought up my posting history, which is obviously filled from posts on other threads.

How is asking if someone is a Christian not reasonable on a Christian forum?

A basic Christian belief is that Jesus is 100% man and 100% God. Do you or metmom agree with that?

There is generally a correlation between religiosity and conservatism.

It is true that many Jews and Catholics vote liberally. However, in both cases people in those groups who are more faithful to their religion more often vote conservatively. If you need examples showing this, you can look them up yourself, but if you really need me to show you specific examples, just say so. I may take a while, though, because I am responding to many people on this thread and on another one.

Somehow, I’m not understanding what you’re looking for in my posting history.

I would like to understand.

I am done debating Christians on this thread. This is a thread calling just for Christian respect and unity, so I believe debating would defeat the purpose of this post.

Some people seem to think I am Mormon or promoting Mormonism. I have no idea where they get this idea, as I have stated that I am Catholic, and have never mentioned Mormonism at all.

I will however still correspond with those who I am not sure am Christian, since they generally have questions on Christianity and religion in general which would not be divisive for Christians.

Osage Orange wants specific examples of Christians acting uncivilly. I think that by looking at some of your posts or at the posts of those who you are responding to, he may see some uncivil posts.

That's a cop out. Give him specifics.

His idea of incivility and yours are not likely to be the same. Do the work yourself.

How condescending of you.

For all Catholics complain about judging when they're on the receiving end, they sure are pretty adept at dishing it out.

Catholicism is simply a religious system which does not recognize Scripture as the final authority, but rather defers to Rome for that.

In light of that, it is simply not possible that Catholics have the proper criteria, nor the spiritual discernment, to accurately determine the validity of another's faith.

Anyone who cannot even be sure of his or her own salvation is in no position to pass judgment on another's.

So..you are saying muslims are conservative. In the way we in the USA think of Conservatism? Many muslims appear very devout....

I'm just attempting to figure out what you mean exactly when you make the statement that I replied to.

Do you have examples / stats to prove the following...?

However, in both cases people in those groups who are more faithful to their religion more often vote conservatively.

I know...anecdotally of course, many Jews and Catholics that go to Church/Temple every week...that aren't by any means Conservative.

So are your comments based on fact...or your opinions?

I feel that many of your posts could be considered “uncivil,” and he was asking for examples of uncivil posts.

I consider Orthodox Christians, Catholics, and Protestants to definitely be Christian.

False premise.

You cannot assess the validity of one's faith based on denominational affiliation.

One is not a Christian simply because one attends a church that calls itself *Christian*.

Nor is one a Christian because one is not an atheist, muslim, Hindu, or any other religion. It's not a default option.

There is generally a correlation between religiosity and conservatism.

Are you talking about World religion here...or American religion?

What religion are you...if you don't mind me asking?

They think you are lds because you dance around the issues and do not provide examples of your accusations.

“That’s a cop out. Give him specifics.”

Osage Orange can speak for himself if he thinks my examples have been unsatisfactory. That was not a cop out, and I gave him plenty of examples.

“His idea of incivility and yours are not likely to be the same. Do the work yourself.”

I gave him examples of what can be considered uncivil. If he does not agree, he can tell me himself.

Metmom, I feel your goal is more to agitate me than to discuss anything else. I also note that you have still not said whether you agree that Jesus is 100% God and 100% man. Most Christians would jump at the opportunity to state their agreement with that.

Pretty much negates anything you've said on this thread...I don't believe much of anything you've said here.

Been there...done that.

Adios.....NOOB!!
