Thanks much for your prayers.
BTW, My mother and step-mother both graduated from this life within 5 days of each other 6 years ago.
My step-mother was RC, BTW.
The key issue with my Dad was concern that he was ready to meet God.
Thankfully, God has answered that prayer. Now, I just wish for him whatever physical comfort is possible, and a quick, easy, peaceful graduation in God’s time. . . . that he have peace in his heart and look forward to being with God and his saved relatives who’ve gone before. That he remain forgiving of all and in communion with God.
Thanks tons for your prayers.
“So do you Aumonk think this ladys stuff is just hot-air?”
The the source website had alot of charismatic chaos type stuff like the Lakeland, Fla revival, so yes I am skeptical.
“What do you think of Benny then? “
A fraud.
The problem is that I watched Benny HiLL for a long time before I ever heard of HiNN, so to me, I always get the giggles and imagine the silly salute when I hear of Benny :-)
Some one should make parody of hime swinging his coat around to the them ‘Yakety Sax”. Or being chased by British cops wielding night sticks.
The guy was a Card! Right now I'm watching the DVD of Yes Prime Minister one more time and it's still hilarious!
You’re not the only one who had this same mental image when Benny Hill / Benny Hinn is mentioned. I’ve had to stifle more than one laugh over those two names.
Thanx Quix.
I saw your name and wanted to take my time to read.
I’m not much of a techie, thanx for the advise.
I’m neither Quix nor a Pentecostal, but as someone who’s beliefs match up with his fairly well, despite my status as a Freewill Baptist, I can say that I/we view it as nothing more than speaking to the Third Person of the Trinity and therefore right and good.
Granted, there’s a certain way of doing so, a protocol if you will, as the Spirit is not the Father or the Son and has His specific place and portion in our lives which is different than the Father’s or Son’s portions.
For example, just as the Father wills something to be done and the Son makes it possible, the Spirit guides us in doing it. It would be misguided, therefore, to ask the Spirit what the Father’s will is or to thank the Spirit for the Son’s redemption of us, but not misguided at all to acknowledge the Spirit’s work in our lives to guide us in the Father’s will or remind us of our redemption by the Son.
Does that make sense?
He’s not laughing in his current location.
Prayerful pondering is fitting in such cases.
Thx.
Extremely well put, imho.
Thx.
Please know that I am sending prayers up. Holy Lord, accept these prayers from this sinner as I humbly add them, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Am blessed and humbled that you would; that you are.
May the Lord return to you and your loved ones 10 X’s the blessings and caring.
Thanks for your insightful and fitting words.
Thx Big.
You obviously failed to read the entirety of my commentary and apply context clues. That’s fine. I’m used to it. I argue with liberals and atheists on a regular basis. This really isn’t that much different.
The application of the word “if” is relevant. I suggest you consider what its purpose in my statement might be. It will help you understand my point.
The term “non-sense” was applied to the anti-Catholic rants I frequently see, not to Scripture. Your application of the word is, at best, projection. This can be remedied by reading entire posts instead of picking and choosing what you would like to use to attack someone.
Show me in Scripture where it says sound systems are used in church services, or that guitars and drums and “worship bands” are standard fare. Perhaps you can cite examples from Scripture which state that churches must use grape juice for Communion instead of wine, despite the very real presence of wine at the Last Supper. Oh, and please provide a citation of the prohibition against the use of the Rosary in prayer.
Quix and I tend to hash out our issues just fine without your assistance. In fact, I’d venture to say that Quix does a better job without you. At the very least there is some respect shown, as opposed to your purposeful twisting of my words.
I’m not sure why you are such an angry individual. Perhaps you should pray about it.
I know this sounds rude, and I am sorry, but I’m done with you. Quix is full well and capable of resolving issues we may have without your intervention, and you only serve to make things worse rather than better. I don’t waste my time on people who are incapable of having a reasonable discussion, and while I am frequently frustrated with what Quix posts in the forums, we always manage to find a way to come to a peaceable agreement when we communicate directly. I have no doubt there will be poking and prodding publicly, on the threads, but Quix has earned my patience and understanding. You have not.
I wish you well, but don’t waste your time posting to me again. I will not be responding to you.
