We have been losing this battle big time. However, we cannot lose the battle of having gays getting married in the church unless the church is accepting of that. They should not have churches forced to perform these marriages.

There will be ‘next steps’, no doubt about it. What ‘rights’ will they push for next, I wonder. Polygamy? Bestiality? These people don’t stop. Once they reach a threshold, they immediately start pushing for the next one. They are never happy. This is why it is so important to keep them busy fighting the gay marriage line.
Churches get a federal tax exemption, and the liberals will use that as a weapon against the church. The federal government, given the right combination of legislators, bureaucrats and judges, will bend the churches to their will.
That is what gay marriage has always been about. If a church says they cannot marry people of the same sex, they will lose their tax deductible status and the pastor will be prosecuted.
If they do marry gays, they will lose their parishoners. I would not give a dime to a Church that married gays.
Hence, Church destroyed.
