Posting in a language that a very limited number of people understand is one of the problems of the Catholics. It is neither pious nor edifying. It’s a form of humanism in that using a language not understood thinking that one appears pious is being puffed up with ones self. Jesus said “verily, they have their reward”.

Sad that you think that only “a very limited number of people understand” Latin. Actually, most literate scholars are Latinate. But thank you for your (odd) opinion.

Latin can be very helpful to those entering the medical field. It has nothing to do with trying to appear pious or being puffed up with ones self. Latin is the basis for many foreign languages and can help you quickly pick up those languages once you’ve mastered Latin. It may be a dead language but that does not mean no one uses it.
