Islam Taught in Charter Schools: Islam Taught in Charter Scools: The Gulen Movement
Koinania House ^ | February, 2011 | Steve Elwart

Over the last twenty years there has been a movement in schools that has changed the way many children are educated—charter schools. Charter schools are public schools, Kindergarten through 12th grade, that receive public money, but are not subject to the same rules that apply to other public schools. In return, charter schools are accountable to achieve certain goals that are outlined in the school charter.

The goal of a charter school is to provide a better education than can be received though the normal public schools. Some of the schools specialize in certain fields; i.e., mathematics and the sciences. Attendance at charter schools is voluntary and the schools are not allowed to charge tuition. In most cases, the charter schools are doing well—59% of the schools have a waiting list to enroll.1

Within the charter school system, though, there is a danger..read more at link please..

Please note:

I did not search hard for links to this. Fox news had a small five minute Televised newsbit yesterday Feb 11th, 2011 regardnig the growth of Charter Scools throwing tem in a positive light. I too thought sures "most" charter schools are better thanpublic schools and in a large sense they are. But this news came to me via a newletter by Chuck Missler's Koinania House and thought the news might be valuabe to Freepers. Missler mainly writes and orates his commentaries in escatology, so I take a lot of his work wit a grain of salt. For instance he was wrong on the Y2K news, wrong on some weird face on Mars, but does have some very good eye opening articles more often than not.

As this is from a newsletter/report I have no idea if this is too soft news for FReepers or just hard enough to be further researched which is the point of my posting. So please, if there are researched FReeper articles you can link to this, if you have more information as to Gulen and his government sanctioned ( our taxes promoting islam) then please drop a line on this.

I have had little time of late to do full research so I'd certainly like to be like a "Berean" and take this article, search others and see just whether this piece holds the truth or not. Knowing there IS Islmaization in out Public schools, and colleges, the battles to NOT home school, and many private schools under attack via whether they'll remain non-profit or forced to be taxed are all isues I've read to a point. This Charter school via a Turkish Islmist that is subtley nefarious really has me wondering, if this is more WH/Obama and his crew shoving Islam (as such in NASA) into our American culture brainwashing our children unbeknownst to parents? I believe(so far) this is so.

Charter schools are public schools,
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

That means they are mandated by law to teach children how to think and reason GODLESSLY and to establish the godless government religion of secular humanism.

Somehow that is supposed to be religiously neutral. Yeah! Right! /s

Americans should ask how the Gülen Movement has man-aged to establish such inroads into the American education system.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Answer to the question above: The same way the Marxists did!

The single most serious mistake Americans have ever made since the beginning of this nation was to turn the education of the nation's children over to the government.

If conservatives care about the Constitution and our survival as a nation, then we MUST MUST MUST get the nation's children into PRIVATE conservative schools. We MUST MUST MUST work to shut down every government school in this nation.

Which is why the unholy alliance between the government and NEA will NEVER allow a voucher system. Vouchers will put the brakes on a lot of the nonsense that comes out of government schools. If they want to have a Marxist of arabic school, fine only I don't want to pay for it, and I don't my kids forced to attend.

I'm so sick of progressives pounding marxism, multi-culturalism , islamic tolerance and homosexuality into the next generation through their education monopoly.

you correctly implied that secular humanism is a religion UNlike any other... the MAIN difference is that it claims to be NON-RELIGIOUS which makes it far more dangerous than any other religion from ATHEISM to Non-denominational Christian’s and everything in between... I happen to be a Non-Denominational Christian which makes me one of those INDEPENDENT non affiliated believers who prefers to take God at His Word rather than any HUMAN ORGANIZATION’s spin on His Word. Kinda like being an Independent Conservative not affiliated the GOP’s RNC/DNC coalition of corruption...

AND,
MILITANT ISLAM ON THE MARCH
UNIVERSAL SHARIAH GAINS NEW US FOOTHOLD

by

Paul L. Williams, Ph.D.

Welcome to the American Islamic College, where students will be trained to take part in the creation of a universal caliphate and the international expansion of militant Islam.

The college, which reopened this week, has ties to the Gulen Movement, which has established over a hundred charter schools throughout the United States and to the Organization of the Islamic Conference, a coalition of 57 Muslim nations with headquarters in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The college, which is located within a Prairie modern brick edifice on three acres in the Lakeville neighborhood of Chicago, has closed and reopened several times since it was formed in 1981.

The last time it offered a full semester of classes in Islamic law and religion was in 2001.

“The whole of America needs an Islamic institution of Islamic thought,” said Ali Yurtsever, a former research scholar at Georgetown University, who oversaw the effort to reopen the institution. “If you don’t have Islamic colleges, then people are misled, they’ll easily be deceived and the clash will continue to grow.”

Ali Yurtsever, who is also known as Hassan Ali Yurtsever, a.k.a. H. Ali Yurtsever, a.k.a.Ali Yurtsever, is a Gulen goon. He is a board member of Chicago Math and Science Academy, a Gulen charter school, that is operated by Concept Schools a Gulen organization. He is the coordinator of Niagara Educational Services, another Gulen company, and president of Rumi Forum, one of Gulen’s religious and political lobbying organizations.

Fethullah Gulen has been called “most dangerous Islamist on planet earth.” He has amassed a fortune – - estimated to be in excess of $25 billion – - and remains intent upon the restoration of the Ottoman Empire and the establishment of universal Islamic law.

Another Gulenist goon affiliated with the re-opening of the American IOslmaic College is Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, who received the 2009 International Peace Award from the Rumi Forum.

Ihsanoglu said that the re-opening of the Muslim college is necessitated by rising tide of Islamophobia throughout the country.

“Today, American Muslims have a role and duty to lead the way through sound moral conduct and active participation in positive political movements toward the creation of a just, peaceful and righteous society,” he said.

Ihsanoglu serves as the Secretary General of the OIC, an organization which seeks the creation of a universal Islamic community, the Ummah, based upon the Koran, the Sunna, and the canonical orthodoxy of shari’a.

The OIC, according to noted British historian Bar Ye’or, supports all jihadist movements that oppose “foreign occupation,” including those in “occupied” Indian Kashmir, and condemns the “humiliation and oppression” of Muslims in India.

Ihsanoglu, as the spokesman of the OIC, issued this warning in 2008 to all Americans about their constitutional right to free speech: “We sent a clear message to the West regarding the red lines that should not be crossed” regarding free speech about Islam and terrorism. And he reported success: “The official West and its public opinion are all now well-aware of the sensitivities of these issues. They have also started to look seriously into the question of freedom of expression from the perspective of its inherent responsibility, which should not be overlooked.”

Scott Alexander, director of the Catholic-Muslim Studies Program at Catholic Theological Union, has been a principal supporter of the re-opening of the American Islamic College.

In 2004 Alexander had planned to act as an expert witness at the terrorism trial of Fawaz Damra. He declined to appear after a controversy erupted over his justification or Damra’s urging of Muslims to kill Jews “on the grounds that he was speaking as a victim.”

Alexander has also claimed that Hamas and their terrorist activities were really no different than what the “Christian evangelical right” has brought forth.

Dr. Zaher Sahloul, president of the Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago, boastfully calls the college “a sleeping giant.”

What happens when the giant awakes?

Very good point! The fact that secular humanism claims to be non-religious does, indeed, make it far more dangerous than any other religion.

It is amazing to me how many conservatives, even here on Free Republic, insist that government schools are non-religious, and are religiously neutral. They simply can not wrap their puny little minds around the fact that government schools are **very** religious! Government schools use tax money to establish the government religious worldview of godless secular humanism.

It is honestly hard for many people, even Freepers, to understand that it is impossible to have a religiously neutral education. It can not happen. It is axiomatic.

Every school **MUST** choose between either a godless or God-centered worldview. It is one or the other. Neither is religiously neutral in content or consequences. **ALL** government schools in this nation are godless in their worldview. ALL government schools ( the good, the bad, and the ugly) establish the government religion of godless secular humanism. ALL taxpayers ( directly or indirectly) are under police threat to fund these government school temples of godlessness.

It is unfortunate, but it will take a generation or two before the majority of American parents regain the confidence they need to homeschool their children.

I suggest the following:

Conservatives should set up temporary private education foundations that would award grants to conservative teachers. The teachers would open tuition-free dame schools in their homes, one room schools in rented spaces, and tutoring centers for homeschoolers. The foundations would certify the teacher, approve the curriculum, and test the students.

The foundations would run community wide sports, theater, arts, and music programs for their students. It is important to break the monopoly on government school “farm team” or “minor league” sports. Sports generate a great deal of “rah rah” support for government schooling in the voting booth from the parents and the community.

The foundations would also organize community wide labs for the older students.

The foundations would organize the parents into political lobbies that would pressure the legislators to close all government schooling.

The foundations would run community wide parenting sessions and meetings to teach parents how to be effective parents and how to provide a supportive learning environment for their children.

The foundations would encourage and assist the parents to move from dependency on the dame schools or one room schools to full homeschooling.

The foundations should be centered on specific geographic areas. One of the mistakes of Sam Walton's private vouchers was that his efforts were too thinly spread out for the benefits to be clearly seen. The goal should be a complete shut down of government schooling in whole sections of some specific communities.

Formation of Prussian-like or prison-style schools should be avoided. They teach children to be compliant prisoners, and they are EXPENSIVE!

The zoning and health regulations on the dame schools should be no more onerous than that imposed on existing home-based day care.

Finally...The foundations need to be temporary. Too often conservatives have set up philanthropic foundations only to have them taken over by Marxists.

And...While I don't like giving anything away for free, the government schools are charging parents the fee of “free”. The foundation will need to meet this price if they are to compete with the government schools. Also...While socialist government schooling teaches the child to feel “entitled”, at least the private foundations will engender feelings of gratitude.

Charter schools are an outgrowth of the liberal elites’ desire to have an effective form of education for the next generation of liberal elite. If anything, most of them have a more concentrated form of the liberal ideology than is found in your average public school. The conservative parent should approach them with caution.

wintertime, my FRiend, I must STRONGLY disagree with you on this assumption.. As a homeschooling parent of 2 I can assure you that there is no lack of confidence in ANY family that believes that God has CALLED them to homeschool. Once you get this calling there is no doubt that He will provide the resources. ONE such resource is http://classicalconversations.com/index.php

While Classical Conversations is not the ONLY network of homeschooling parents it is certainly one of the BEST in the Nation ! Not just because I choose to network with Classical Conversation families but because the PROOF is in the PERFORMANCE ! Any parent who thinks they lack the "confidence" to homeschool please call me 850 933 8511 David Tallahassee, Florida

This is another good point.

What is needed here then are **not** vouchers, tax credits, private conservative foundations etc.

What is fundamentally needed is massive spiritual revival.

Wow, I posted this as this was "all new" to me and I thank you and all who have patiently educated me in this horrid way out tax money is spent and with "Oburkha" trying his darndest to "redistribute" and proseletize Islam in his most nefarious of ways we need to protect OUR youth, our children it's all out WAR on the hearts and minds of our young and I can only imagine this would be the beginning of the "civilian army" in which he's spoken.

heh, but those little proselytizers come a knockin on my door, well I learned a few things throughout the years...either they go through the "unbrainwashing tactics" ( remember this? Brainwashing our children in Public Schools

Time to unbrainwash and if possible train up our children( Proverbs) in home schooling...we need to fight this madness, this evil: doubt you'll get a 1/4 the way through this blog:

old one brainwashing Pali(fake scArabs)children

Hmm most CBS news orgs(MSM) state this is all bunk, but Gulan has a fifth grade education at best and it's true he is given money to promote islamis agendas in America, to the propaganda is strong FOR these charter schools disabling comments on YouTube and few if any actually are watching thses little known sound bytes: From MSM Rueters
